Looking to join a group for Burning Man 2005

Post by leatherphoto » Sun Sep 26, 2004 6:38 am

Hi everybody,

Going to Burning Man first time next year is the great plan for 2005! None of my friends are interested and I am fed up to keep convincing people. So, I was wondering if there might be a group or individuals out there who are interested to introduce a first-timer to the great experience. I am a 32-year-old, professional photographer, easy going, have been living in London (UK) for 10 years and I am a guy generally very flexible in his approach to life (even though, I am totally open to all lifestyles, I personally choose not to do drugs!)

I am looking forward to hearing from someone, US or UK (Are there any 'Burners' living in London?)

Many thanks!

Ulli (London)

PS: I will be staying in San Francisco before and after the event!

You might also get on tribe.net and join the London's Burning tribe. The Burning Man 2005 Virgins tribe might be useful for you too. There is also and sfbay burners and burning silicon tribe for bay area folks that you might want to get to know if you are going to be spending some time in the area. There is also a Euro regional you should be able to find from the main page here. I think they will be having (or have recently had) a burn in Spain.

Welcome H....

Please educate yourself on the culture and mores of photos at BM. I bring this up 'cuz we had a long talk about last night and it's amazing what an ill-timed photo can do to ruin someone's good time.

Glad your coming out!

There are English and London burners on this board. Poke around and find them.

And never to early to invoke Hageymon. Unless he's just had too much.

greetings-

The temple of joyous laughter would welcome you. We are based out of San Jose, just south of SF. We take in a few virgin burners each year. Among other things, in 2005 we will be operating a bus service along the esplanade. This will give our campers the chance to meet many new friends, and give a useful service to the community.

If you are interested in joining us, e-mail me at [email protected]

Need a home?

Yo!

A great camp if you are ready to completely immerse yourself in the experience is Lamplighters!

We work for the city and light its streets without fail every single night.

Its a bit of a workload to be sure... about 6 hours a day, almost everyday. But the return you get in Burner love is incredible. And we have a kick ass bar! Whoooo!

Check out the deal at the above link. Our village was 125 Burners last year. Its alot of fun working when you are in great company! And we are all dedicated Burners having a great time. We drink like roman senators... We eat like kings... We work like dogs... Its freaking magic.

Good luck with your search for a home.

Welcome to Burningman,

I know a couple of people from europe and the U.K. that attended with Green Tortoise (www.greentortoise.com) they bill themselves as an adventure travel outfit. They make the trip out to BM annually. Only thing you'd have to worry about is a flight from U.K. to San Francisco and some supplies once you landed in SF.
