That's easy. To try to provide more accurate information to future first timers, so they aren't as confused and/or misled as I was.

In some cases, the sophomore year can be more painful than the freshman year. What can sometimes happen is that person becomes an expert know-it-all. After 3 or 4 years, things quiet down to a pleasant normalcy.

I'm not giving any left-handed jabs, it just seems to be how things are with a small percentage of participants.

Just my own personal thoughts........

what is this misinformation that you speak. all I see is pages of Sparr drabble. 70k people make it to BRC with no issues, but yet you seem to be the only one with a problem. you are starting to come off as an annoying little nat, or that drunk piano player that keeps repeating the same song while crying about his lost life. are we still talking about partying during early arrival,,,?. if so,,, we work 12hrs, party 10hrs, and sleep 2hrs... get over it.

•bring more rope for gifting and bondage demonstration
•host rope bondage and electrical play classes
•volunteer for center camp
•bring my hot air balloon installation, which serves as a shade structure inflated by the wind
•bring another vacuum cube
•bring another, larger (more clues and more visible), crossword puzzle
•do something involving helium balloons and lofted art

I think you're missing the point a bit. There no hidden mysteries. No OT Levels to climb on your bridge to clear. We put it out there for everyone to see and understand.

What is being referred to here, is that sophomore burners can go through something like a megalomania.

You're not a virgin anymore. NOW you've seen and understood. You are the defender of the 10 principles. Demanding and persnickety abut every perceived offense against the community. You can see all of the problems in your village and camp and assorted art pieces and volunteer departments and you know the answer. You can build bigger and better and more pure.

New converts are almost always more orthodox, because the rules are simple and easy to understand. It takes years of study to understand the history, the social dynamics, the internal debates. It the Ten Commandments versus the Talmud. And in the end, all you learn is that there is no total knowledge. No final, ultimate understanding. Just learning, endless and forever learning.

Second year burner: Brings enough stuff-way too much stuff! Gifts the excess to the first year burners (see above)
