Virgin Burner saying hi

Post by lechefpedro » Tue Jun 28, 2016 7:00 pm

Just stopping in and saying hi!

Super excited to finally be heading to BRC.
I have been wanting to go for the last 6 years and never had the opportunity.
My dad got invited and I made a comment about how he was lucky and will be a burner before me!
2 days later he said the camp had an extra place and boom I am going!!
Never thought that was how i would get to Burning Man!

Well hope to see some of you fine folk among the dust!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

You Lucky Duck! :D Congratulations.

I had only two months' warning before my first Burn, and it turned out great. The only things I lacked were extra batteries, cold Sprite, and a fancier, warmer Burn Night coat (I had to layer; it gets VERY cold at night sometimes) and those first two omissions were rectified by a campmate's mid-week jaunt to Gerlach. Getting in and out takes forever these days, though, so learn from my suffering. ;)

Read the Survival Guide 2-3 times (or more!) so you can hit the ground running, and don't have to be looked after too much.

Don't sweat gifting--you can offer 1) Assistance 2) Company or Invitations to Solo People 3) Hospitality, or any healing any deficits you see in other people . . . someone look chapped? Offer your spare lip balm or offer a travel lotion. Someone going porto to porto desperate for paper? Offer your spare mini roll of 1-ply. It doesn't have to be fancy. :)

Welcome!

oOoO great ideas for gifts Savannah!
I was wondering what you meant by #2 on your gifting ideas list?
I am still obviously in the dark as far as most the lingo but I promise I will not be one of the darktards.

I have read through the survival guides more than thrice hahah and am close to having my all my stuff together!
Gonna finish this next week and test my monkey hut out on July 4th weekend and once more in the woods to make sure I got it.

I am a cook off the playa and was wondering if you had any ideas about using that as my giftable services. If all goes well this time I would love to eventually get a permit to serve food to people on the next go round. But I thought maybe as a vet you or some of the others would have some sweet ideas I could borrow for this year.
I was thinking about a shirt or sign that read
"If you have Bacon, I will cook it."
Will it work?

Thanks
Pedro

I'll follow you with; " I will eat it!" HaHaHa...

First burn for me too, welcome and see you in the dust!
2nd time better than the first. And the first was pretty Freakin' Great!
I am Camp2. - A solo camp - Stop by and say Hey!, 8) Gotta beer?

If you are another Solo Burner & very 'Radically Self Reliant' - Maybe we can 'Do What We Do!' :P
