coffee house story time.....
so, about 23, and sitting one evening on hte walkway over Markham between my house on the corner and the blind school across hte four-lane, waiting for sunset and moonrise, as it was to be a full moon night. Congratulating myself again on escaping the race of hte rats, bumper to bumper and hauling ass along the four-lane below, with the occasional honking acknowledgement that life exists elsewhere....
The crazy neighbor was there, keeping unsolicited company, but I didn't mind so much, as being alone always happened more often than not.
A call from hte sidewalk below for cigarettes, do we have any to spare? Often finding it difficult to say no, I obliged. Two guys kinda scruffy, heading home after a failed mission to find.....nontobacco......one of htem just in town today and looking for his rainbow friends....
.....whom my crazy neighbor had happened to meet just that day in a chance encounter at the bus station. Much talking ensued, I invited them over to share my herb and wine.....
.....exactly one week later, the other one (not the rainbow kid) moves in; three months later, married; six months later, pregnant; nine months later, now a divorced single mama! heh....beat that.

Nah, not possible.
I'm gonna have to scour the archives for anything even remotely close to resembling comeuppance to that...gigglesnort wrote:coffee house story time.....

I realized several years ago: we go through what we need to go through to get to where we need to be... it all works to bring us forward.coffee house story time..... etc.

I have struggled with the "right" way to view my history of choices through these years. THere are a number of reactions to be had to my circumstance, but ultimately I come back around to being grateful for all of it; like a natural disaster ripping up the world, mixing it up, tearing it down, making way for new growth. Painful, messy, expensive, regenerative.samtzu wrote:Gigglesnort wrote:I realized several years ago: we go through what we need to go through to get to where we need to be... it all works to bring us forward.coffee house story time..... etc.

It helps that I *know myself* - and LIKE myself - better now than when it all began.
