Not sure if it has been posted as I have not seen it but I found this bike rack idea simple and easy. Provided you have access to a drill press.

Five piece bike rack.

That is a beautiful sleek design. But alas, no. There are too many reasons it may fail.

I like the design too, but I just know someone would want to use it as a bar to hang onto or sit on.

I made a couple of those last year, but beefed up: 1 1/2 horizontal, 3/4 legs. It could hold a least one person hanging in the center. If you're still concerned, cut the horizontal piece down from 10 ft to 8 ft long.

To make drilling the leg holes easier, I got a coupling for each end and drilled through that.

I didn't have a worry about people hanging on it. One would obviously stress test before use and reinforce as required, however, if it collapses on them or they fall and crash, so be it. Its made for hanging bikes not monkey bars. One can't make everything idiot proof. And it would obviously by anchored. But for a few to poo poo it outright, was interesting. :?

The biggest thing I liked was its easily packed. Especially if you are already packing EMT. Better than a folding wood or PVC stand, packing wise.

Not building one this year so you need to have a kick stand on your bike or lay it on the ground if you visit.

Elder, Sorry to poop on your thread. I just wanted to lean on it immediately and pictured it being a flat pile of metal. If you don't have many people around or they don't drink you may be fine with that design.
