Does anyone suggest some aluminet suppliers over others?
I am looking into using http://www.growerssolution.com/external ... cloth.html so I can customize thr sizes for my camp accordingly.
Aluminet Suppliers
Re: Aluminet Suppliers
Better get on that, unless you need aluminet for your haunted house on Halloween.
They're probably pretty damn busy right about now...

Sooner or later, it will get real strange...

Everybody has their favorite, even me - just search ePlaya. Mr Jackass is correct, it is order +shipping crunch time, and especially for any custom edging or grommeting. Happy Alumineting!

Re: Aluminet Suppliers
I've bought from this supplier three times.
http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/prod ... de-cloth_1
PHONE them, as ready made edged and grommeted pieces disappear very quickly about now.
If you buy bulk, forget expensive Shark Teeth and go with these much cheaper variations that work really well with aluminet:
http://www.shadeclothstore.com/products ... 0&dept=172
These are the clips I use and they 1/3 the price of Shark Clips which are overpriced.
I use very close spacing probably because they are so cheap.
"Clip-Its Plastic Grommets" 25 for $5.75 vs. Shark Cips 10 for $5

Re: Aluminet Suppliers
I used these guys
http://www.ecologictechnologiesinc.com/ ... minet.html
Quality was perfect, exactly what I asked for.
But, I ordered in April so I have no clue what their delivery time now is.
ASC 70 28 feet wide by 20 feet (bulk) $190.40
96 feet seaming $28.80
48 grommets $12
UPS ground $19.00
In hindsight I should have gotten the grommets more closely spaced but it did hold up just fine in last years winds.
This is a great size to go over a costco frame.

That is a beautiful setup. I love the way you extended the sides.

Re: Aluminet Suppliers
I've been using these same clips for years. Be sure you put the zip ties thru the center of the circle rather than thru the hinge loop. They are much stronger that way although using the hinge loops seems like an obvious way to go. Don't cheap out on your zip ties either.DoctorIknow wrote: These are the clips I use and they 1/3 the price of Shark Clips which are overpriced.

A plan is what you vary from.

Re: Aluminet Suppliers
A problem of buying locally is that it's difficult to visually judge the quality from zip-ties, even those from Lowes, that one would think they are better than Harbor Freights, but my experience proves that isn't the case.bigbluedoggy wrote:Don't cheap out on your zip ties either.
One could buy a small lot and test them out: hold by tail and whip head against hard surface. Tighten until breakage using vise grips on the tail. See if all in the bag have good "teeth" (I've had some on the playa that every other one in the bag had NO teeth.)
or,
There seem to be two sellers on amazon that have very positive reviews, and the prices are not low, but for sure it blows to only have ties at BM that do not engage their "teeth" or break when tightening.
