I'm giving this a nudge over to the Stories forum, since that's a better fit for pics and videos from the event.

I didn't get to watch it last night, but just circled back and checked it out. Great work on the video - it's got a nice feel as a personal journey. Thanks for sharing that!

Nice work. I like these videos featuring the real playa-scape sounds and less edit/production work. Great balance.
Sooner or later, it will get real strange...

Thanks, all. That was eight hours of footage distilled down into eight and half minutes.

Great perfect piece of music at the beginning (a song from one of my fave albums from the boys) and then a very natural feeling came over me during the rest. Never a jarring edit, great transitions, a personal story, and great mix of sounds. Congrads!

Joe baha I started the other non-BM video and flashed on, "You suck at Photoshop". You remember that hilarious parody of an instructional with bitter boy and cheating wife. Thanks a lot. Now I'm stuck watching 30 photoshop episodes on MY Damn Channel. ....So who's this Lisa?

No, I don't think I saw that ("You Suck at Photoshop"). I see it now though.
I'm not Joe-ba-ha either. Joe-ba-ha was this guy I met at this camp near nine and the Esplanade, I think. Or eight. His name 'from the real world' was something else. When he asked me what it was somehow "Joe-ba-ha" came out, which wasn't even close. And yet somehow the wrong name has stuck. I think he took it as his playa name.
Lisa used to be my girlfriend. She eventually grew tired of that situation, though, and now she's 'just' my muse. The non-BM video is actually a continuation in narrative form of the BM video. So says me anyway.

I've watched that video, I don't know, hundreds of times? At least dozens. Many, many, many times. And I *****just***** realized my subtitle says "Saturday, August 5th" for when the man burned. It was SEPTEMBER 5th. That's blowing my mind right now, I have to leave the forum. Excuse me. ***SMFH***DoctorIknow wrote:Great perfect piece of music at the beginning (a song from one of my fave albums from the boys) and then a very natural feeling came over me during the rest. Upon further reflection, I think I did change it. I have a recollection of being bummed the 'galloping horse' went behind the subtitle sooner. I must not have saved it and, then, aesthetically liked the wrong way better but thought it was fixed. Yep, I think that's what happened. But, wow, I didn't rediscover it for so long. I think it's just 'one of those things,' not I'm losing my mind. Right? Sure.dog on the playa wrote:I've watched that video, I don't know, hundreds of times? At least dozens. Many, many, many times. I really liked this. It felt real, moreso than a lot of Burning Man videos. The first "I wonder if you're out there... I miss you" hit me pretty hard. It would have stood on its own, even without the rest revealing about Lisa.

When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
