Gifts and gifting

Post by dog on the playa » Mon Jul 18, 2016 2:51 pm

The first year I went, I gifted Toblerone chocolate bars... that had turned to liquid. Luckily, I also brought with plenty of tuna fish to gift, as well as Gatorade.

Last year, I wanted to get buttons made that said Bernie Man and had Sanders head on the man. But that was a lot of fluffy talk that didn't go anywhere. I would have done it this year but, well, you know.

So, this year, what I am doing is... homemade thing. Little containers with lids attached (most of them). I put a piece of sealed gum or candy in there as a treat. Some other random stuff, like the ones that have Port-a-Potty Luv written on the label have prophylactics and possibly some gum/candy as well. I'm thinking fellow burners can use these containers as... containers. For moop or whatever.

Can you edit the post?

Forgot the reason why I posted---which was I forgot to mention the theme, Da Vinci's Workshop, on most of my containers. I don't particularly want to destroy what I already made, which is sorta ok, but -shoot- ***the theme***.

It's perplexing me.

Don't worry about the theme, you do it or you do not. And your reply was all that was needed to mention it on your containers. They sound like they will make great pocket ashtrays.

I did put the year on all of them. They're plastic too so possible melt-age---but, hey, it's BM... 'Take my stupid gift, you f***er.'

Hey, that was so cool what you said. It slipped by me the first... few times. The reply. I've mentioned. It's done. Thanks.

Hey dog. If you want to make them ashtrays, just buy a roll of metal tape and line them. Available at the hardware store. that tape is so cool. Dresses up everything it touches.

That's a capital idea. I might just do it.

I've been thinking about this and why get the tape? 'You' want an ashtray/cigarette-disposal unit? Just put a little playa in your container. It's gotta be good for something.

Playa dust shifts around though, and the ash could still reach the plastic exterior. The tape provides protection. Plus people might just dump the playa out if you put it in there, thinking it just got into it accidentally like it does with everything else.

You make a good point... but I have a sneaking suspicious -data/facts unavailable- that these are the same people who are going to throw the tape-enhanced container in the port-a-potty. I say let it melt in their pocket, serves 'em right---or I just won't gift these irresponsible people AT ALL. The port-a-potties are for everyone! My plastic containers are for people, hopefully Burners, who know *where* to dispose of their combustibles and throw out their trash---radically. Also, I don't feel like doing it now.
