Anat's Love Camp open to new members
Hello Burning Man Campers!
Are you ready to co-create and share the LOVE on playa this year? Yup, that's what I thought! So, let's do this!!!!
Here are some of the amazing things going on this year, followed by practical details that you need to know for camping at the burn with us this year:
Activities:
Monday thru Sunday from 10-11am: The Love Camp invites old friends and new friends to join us for amazing food and social time in our state-of-the-playa kitchen.
Monday thru Friday at 8:30pm. Soulistica (www.soulistica.com) is hosting Sunset Kava Ceremonies at the Love Camp. The Soulistica crew has joined our camp and will be bringing their 40' bus which has been converted into a holistic healing center and the exterior is covered with over 20,000 LED lights that move to the music. We are building a 40' diameter, 17' high dome as well as a climate controlled pyramid ceremony space. The Kava ceremonies, coupled with sound and light healing technologies, will help to realign you and prepare you for celebrating through the night at the Burn.
Monday thru Friday from 9-11pm: Jose Contreras and The Love Camp are hosting House on Fire. Become the star of a nightly video art production with electrifying music, fire spinning, music/performance stage and 20,000 LED light backdrop. Each night's video art production will be emailed to participants after the burn as well as being featured nightly on playa. This link, from Death Valley, will give you a sense of Jose's art.
Monday from 7-9pm: DJ Qz (Ken) from our own Love Camp is hosting Ballroom Partner Dancing. Great ballroom dancing and lessons appropriate for all partner dancing and grinding.
Tuesday and Friday from 5-8pm: Sassafras and Catra from our own Love Camp are hosting the Sexy Barista Party on Fire. Our sexy baristas will serve up hot and cold coffee with your favorite cordials while you dance to deep beats with our fire flow dancers (21+ for alcohol).
Thursday from 2-4pm: Deborah and Richardo from our own Love Camp are hosting a Brazilian Caipiroska Bar with Sexy Samba Dancing. Dance your way across the stage to earn a cool, refreshing drink as your reward (21+ for alcohol).
Friday from 9-11pm: The Love Camp is hosting Techno Fire. Canadian DJ Adam Bontempo (who is camping with us this year) will turn up the Love Camp Soulistica stage and hold down the vibe while the fire conclave Hellfire Society (from LA) will be our guests to burn the night. Check out https://soundcloud.com/adambontempo/tec ... ast-mix-01 to hear Adam and to see Hellfire Society in action.
To be determined: We are also working on lining up additional live performances on our main stage and a series of classes on Holistic Healing, Entheogens, consciousness and Spiritual Awaking. These events will be added to the Burning Man activity guide as we finalize scheduling.
Infrastructure:
Camping Shade: This year we are building a 4,400 square foot shade structure for our campers. No need for make-shift tarps tied to your car or pop-ups that blow away. The smaller version was playa tested last year and held up to 80mph winds while NOTHING moved inside.
Kitchen: The camp prepares two major meals per day at breakfast and supper. Healthy, organic and delicious with options for omnivores and vegans.
Showers: Our solar shower provides the means to wash off the dust and manage the grey water.
Dome: The 40' diameter dome is filled with sound and light at frequencies that create a relaxing, healing vibe.
Pyramid: A camp-private, climate-controlled space for massage, meditation, healing ceremonies and spiritual journeys.
Stage: Our mobile stage, backed by an impressive sound system and integrated lighting, is the platform for performances, DJs and interactive mischief.
Art: The Love Camp is working to bring two large scale art pieces to playa this year. The Star of Shamash created by our own Jim-dandy! and 16' tall set of matching Twin Flame Kundalini to frame the entrance to our public camp space.
Placement: The Love Camp has been given nearly 40,000sqf of camping space to build our camp this year. The frontage of our camp is located at 9:15 within the Six O'Clock Public Plaza and the back of the camp spans an entire block from street to street.
Campers: The visibility of the Love Camp will be high and we are expected to build a camp that is
interactive and interesting, unusual and artistic, inviting and inclusive. We are dedicated to that mission and welcome burners who are committed to the values and ideals that bring us to the Burn. Our camp mates come from around the country and many are international. All campers are expected to participate in building and running the camp, and each volunteers about 12 hours total during the Burn to help create an amazing environment and experience for the wider Burning Man community. This is a participation camp, not a plug-and-play camp ... we want you if you are coming to work as a team to give of ourselves to each other and the wider Burning Man community as well as to graciously receive the gifts of other burners' creativity.
Details:
Camp fee: This year, the camp fee is $200 per camper if you are traveling light and can't carry much food to contribute to the camp kitchen, or $150 if you are bringing an ice chest full of food to donate to the communal kitchen (the camp website identifies the types of food to bring). This fee covers things like: equipment and infrastructure transportation to playa, food and kitchen supplies, fuel for stoves and generators, grey water collection and removal, and all of the nitty gritty necessities of building a large camp. The camp fee is not payment for services rendered, you are not checking into a playa hotel ... it is a collaborative pooling of resources to that we can achieve more together than we can individually.
Registration: Returning campers must register through the camp website www.anatslovecamp.org and pay the camp fee through the camp website. New campers must talk to a member of the Steering Committee to be invited to join the camp, and then must register and pay camp fees through the camp website. If you have camped with us before and want to bring new friends that are awesome people, we encourage you to reach out and get registered soon. We have room for approximately 80 people this year and many of those spots are already filled. Reach out to a Steering Committee member for the registration page password if you want to join in on the fun, the work, the collaboration and an amazing, love-filled burn!
