RV Share for small Yoga/Meditation/Dance Camp

Post by Yoldess » Wed Jun 22, 2016 4:42 pm

I have 4 bunk beds (each 2 can be made into one queen bed) to share with 4 awesome people for a participation fee that will include full RV privileges from August 27th till September 5th, 2016. One shower every other day is the only "restriction" as water wouldn't last otherwise. The RV is fully equipped; generator, fridge, microwave etc. The participation fee includes ALL expenses and fees, you just need to bring your ticket, sheets, clothes, food and beverages. I will be coordinating with everyone so that our camp is balanced and we are all comfortable and happy. Each participant is required to do one hour of work for the camp/RV DAILY, as assigned.

The RV journey will start in Los Angeles on the afternoon of August 27th with pick up in the Los Angeles area. We also can pick up our camp participant(s) in Reno in the morning of August 28th.

Our RV will leave BRC on Sunday September 4th (early afternoon) with drop off in Reno by evening and returning to Los Angeles September 5th.

Our RVs sleep 10 but it will be a maximum of 5 people per RV, so that everyone is comfortable.

Your addition to the camp in any form you choose will be greatly appreciated.

I will be setting up an around the clock OM meditation room, and will be providing personalized yoga therapy practices for any burner who needs it.

Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or just to brainstorm. Photos of RV available upon request. See you at the playa <3

Hello!

We are two newbie gal burners (28 and 34) coming all the way from Australia (one Aussie, one American) very interested in joining your lovely- sounding RV crew. We're both happy yoga, meditation and dance participants and love the idea of your comfortable set-up. As Australians we're very used to being water resourceful so the shower restriction sounds like a great idea.

We would be happy to be picked up in Reno or possibly LA also (yet to be determined). We've got our tickets and a car pass also should that be required.

Please let us know if you still have spaces and are interested in having us join you. Please ask any questions of us that you like.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Julia

Hi there,

My husband and I are coming to burn this year and we already have our vehicle + camp solo plans BUT as a yoga/meditation/dance lover I would love to come and visit your camp - if you know where you'll be placed :)

Hey this sounds like a perfect fit for me. 33/m young entrepreneur. I've been a Vipassana meditator for 8 years so I'm really interested in joining if you still have the space!

Thanks,

Yasser

Departure from Los Angeles

Post by Yoldess » Wed Jul 20, 2016 2:02 pm

Hi guys,

I am 38 and going alone with my car and camper. I am looking to join anyone leaving from LA and we can work out details of which vehicle to take and cost share accordingly. I am super flexible.

I am a yogi and plan to set up an om meditation room if space permits. I would love to join a pre-existing camp or set up on our own if I find the right group.

Any info on regional meets in Los Angeles would also be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Seeing as you're driving, I highly recommend taking the 395 - it's stunningly beautiful in places. Just watch for speed traps this side of the NV border; they're there every year.

As for regionals: http://regionals.burningman.org/regiona ... s-angeles/
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

There's burner meetups in DTLA and Venice (I think) once a month. DTLA is the first friday of each month. Sign up for the la burning man newsletter for info if you're not already.

Also, there's some scattered rideshare planning going on in the facebook group.

Hi Yoldess,

My girlfriend and I recently moved from L.A. the SF bay area. Knew lots of burners down in L.A. and have made new burner friends up here in the bay area.

It is my third burn and my girlfriend's first.

We were supposed to stay with a L.A. based camp, but they lost their placement this year a couple of weeks back and won't be operational this year.

So we are scrambling to find a new camp or group of people to join. I am doing a lot of outreach related to that now.

We are also looking for a ride share to and from the burn to the SF bay area, nearby the SFO airport.

My car is not the ideal choice to take into the playa environment.

I wanted to confirm a few things on your vehicle(s)

Do you have a car with a trailer camper? or is it an smaller sized drivable RV?

How many folks can your camper sleep, or were you just looking to share a ride, and not the camper?

Either works, just wanted to understand what your plans on that were.

Happy to discuss how best to share ride costs.

Let's discuss...

Hi!

i saw your post on burning man forum. A friend and I are looking into renting an RV, but it seems too expensive for only 2 of us. Would you guys be interested? we can also join if someone has something set up already.

We live in Phoenix, but could go through California, or Reno.. work something out.

2 males, first time burners, 28 and 35. Add me on Facebook:

Still have space? First time to BurningMan, I'll be volunteering with Zendo (psychedelic harm reduction). I'm 58 and a life long meditator. Sounds like a nice group you're gathering. Hope to hear! Tami

Hi Yoldress - I sent you a message via a different site (there are so many BM sites!) but I also wanted to reply here since I'm not sure that you will receive my message. I would love to join the RV share - this is perfect for me given that I had previously confided in my friend that my August would be filled with yoga, meditation and dance. I'm happy to assist you with the therapy sessions - I'm a fast learner. Message me if there is still space.

If no space, I definitely want to participate in this camp. Glad this exists!

Lisa
