Unless you really need the capacity of a D battery, there are plastic shell adapters that hold a AA battery that has the outside dimensions of a D. I am using them for an old 4 D cell Coleman battery lantern that I changed out the watt-hog incandescent bulb for an LED. I figure 4 AA batteries will run it for hours. Of course 4 D batteries would run it for months...

Somebody in the apartment complex threw out a collapsible shoe rack in perfectly serviceable condition. It's now destined to be my junk organizer for inside the tent.

We got our house sitter hired. She also happens to work for a Veterinarian, which is a real coup. While we will miss our furry critters, we feel they will be in good hands for the two weeks we are gone.

It's been a busy week so far. I'm almost done with the Synapse Bar Cart, just a few more coats of sealer on the tops. We also made the decision to switch from me renting a box truck to get a hitch put on our van and rent a trailer instead, so I made plans to get the hitch done and booked the trailer. I'd also been having some trouble with the tail lights on the van recently, so I replaced the wiring and the bulbs and got that sorted out. And I got everything confirmed with the company for water delivery on playa. I'll be bringing up most of what we need with me, this is more of an exploratory test for the future.

Sorting the bins we took to the regional. I now have a head start on costume packing, lights, food, and the kitchen box. Also, Larry now knows to check inside the duffel with our sheets and blanket/comforter, and not to bring the spare sleeping bag one instead. We don't even need a spare sleeping bag duffel, but what do I know?

Was gifted two bikes by my old landlord a few months ago. They were in his backyard in SoCal for who knows how long and I finally got around to looking at them. Apart from the dust and spiders, they're in great shape! One single-speed with coaster breaks and really nice, wide seat for my guy and his bad back, and the other with just enough gears to keep me happy. I cleaned them up, lubricated the chains, and ordered a set of six tubes to have plenty of replacements on hand. While I was at it I worked on my commuter bike, too.

If the tires show any signs of cracks, even slight cracks on the sidewalls, they are dried out and need replacing.

Holy shit! I didn't even think of that......LOL. It's also got a hydration port on the side so you can drink without removing the mask. I could hook a bottle of scotch to that, a bong to the front of it and I'd be set for the whole night.

Made final adjustments to the grey water evap unit. Burnt up one fan during testing. Replaced it and have spares of everything.
Ordered batteries for the bike. Hope they make it on time.
All fluids and filters changed out on the truck.
New Tow mirrors installed
Dry Supplies all purchased

After VultureChow and Graidawg showed me how to assemble a carport, I came home to find my sticker order arrived in the mail. Now I have dozens of stickers with my name, camp, email and phone number to stick on the things I need to stick them on; camera, phone, VIPs (Very Intoxicated People I want to find me post-burn), tools, etc.
