I remember your concern... You must be pretty pleased. I know I am. Jim Mason rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but I'm lovin' every second of this. People are starting to question shit just a little...

You all are missing the big drama! Put down your drinks! The 2005 Art Theme has been announced...

I posted it to the Nature Of Burning Man, but here's a carbon copy of it, straight from burningman.com

Burning Man's 2005 Art Theme will be "Psyche: the Conscious, the Subconscious and the Unconscious." Our theme explores psychology: self-expression, self-reflection and the unconscious power of dreams. More to come.

We weren't ignoring the theme at all; we were focusing on it the "unconscious" part.

Another Old Crow, and keep 'em comin'...

I want to do something with sound .... things that you can barely hear ... that just sort of drift out across the playa.

Back years ago when I was in the Army there was a school for people learning morse code. They would spend all day at typewriters with headphones clamped over their heads copying random 5-letter code groups. One night we decided to fuck with them a little. I got a radio amateur code practice tape and put it on the stereo with the speakers in the window pointed at their barracks and turned the sound up JUST loud enough so that if you had the window open and were very quiet, you could barely hear it.

They were taling the next day at the chow hall how they were hearing code in their sleep.

That is kindof my inspiration.
