I have started to put the clothes in zip lock bags.

The interactivities supplies are all in totes, seperatly labeled.

The supplies for camp Led lights, cookstove, propane, moop magnet, tool etc all organized and ready to load.

House sitter reserved.

The 2330 mile trip begins in T-minus 26 days....

I did a little research and then took apart my seized up front bike (trike) wheel. I counted the bearings and haven't lost any yet. All cleaned out but I cannot find my tube of grease. Time is my enemy here with little ball bearings safe at the moment. I know a random thoughtless swing of elbow or grocery bag is likely, and then there is the mess of the search in itself. Oy.

I am using a large visible not loseable tupperware and I am committed to finding the grease before end of day. I will only handle the bearings over a dish shaped receptacle hopefully. yes the magnet is a good idea, probably find one with the tube of grease.
(no, I won't give in to the thought of using crisco and calling it a day)
at least that wheel will be spinning before I head out to BRC.

My trike rear brake involves rubber belts...when I was working on it to try and adjust it I took lots of pictures before I started unscrewing things...best advice I have for you.

Pinched myself - The ticket and VP are real. I re-read the ticket confirmation email. I'm going to Burning Man.

Mended the smoke flap on the tipi - I put a hole in it at Element 11.
Stripped the old lights off the bicycle and performed some maintenance on it.
Ordered new lights for the bike and 5 extra strings for other things.
Thought it might be fun to hunt for scorpions - hand held black light is on its way.
Got a new shade tarp - 12x8 of aluminet - Cut some willow poles for rigging it
Put new grommets in the floor canvas.
Rode the bike enough to get saddle sore. I want the butt to be battle hardened before I get there.
Invested in two wider tires for the bike - 41mm vs. 32mm with 3 new innertubes
Maintenance on the truck is complete - License, insurance, and tags all in order.
Route planned - Cody thru YNP, pass thru Pocatello, ID to Snowville, UT. Then to Wendover and Ely, NV and the Great Basin NP for a week. Drive onward to Tonopah and Centennial. Resupply in Fernley and go in to the burn.

Applied for Disability Vehicle permit today, deadline is Aug. 2nd. OMG sale coming up, I'll get my Low income Ticket final confirmation letter after that is done. Washed the Limo last night, played with the water hose. Got the bluing off the new whitewalls. I plan to sleep in the Limo next to the bar. My camp will be a portable garage. I'm taking my break down mobility scooter also, for forays out of the beast Limo.

I have my usual piles of stuff ready to load. A pile of clothes in the front room, a pile of food and cooking stuff in the kitchen. My camping stuff is piled in the old RV.

4 weekends left, and 30 days till I embark on Saturday the 27th. getting there about daybreak Sunday. Like everyone else not on early entry. Cooler driving at night. 110 yesterday, let's just say I'm acclimated.

The 'free use' of a burner's RV and BM camp set up is a no go. He'd not used the RV in several years and didn't realize how bad of shape it's in.

I'm in Los Angeles, if you know any one who needs 2 tix and a car pass at face value, let me know.

OOPS, my limo is longer than a standard pickup so it cannot be used as a disability vehicle, however, my mobility scooter is allowed. I got the email from the hotties today. So, less gas more volts. I'll bring my generator to recharge, maybe a solar panel and inverter to top off. Maybe an adult trike... oh well.

I just added extra wire and added easy connectors for the back up components of my FIGJAM cooler and the one I am making for a friend. If something goes south I can swap out anything very quickly and easier. I'll need this cooler the most when I am less inclined to make though-out, skillful decisions.

Cutting pads and testing later today.

My luggage/bin real estate is about exhausted. I may end up leaving my bucket here and bring everything else. I can easily buy 2 buckets in Reno and drill holes there before heading to the playa the next day.

Purchased a carpet rem for my tent and cut it to fit.
Pulled out another old carpet piece I was going to take but decided it was going to be moopy and gave up on it.
Made a huge batch of chili and vacuum packed portion sizes for freezing
Vacuum packed some dehydrated mangoes, red bananas, and chili spiced mangoes
Finished and packed up all my gift whistles
Removed all the packaging, put batteries in all my lighting toys, and packed them up.

Twas a good day!

I started my training today with one bike ride long enough to make my ass sore, which was 42 minutes. The legs and lungs are good. Saddle soreness is my weakest link now. Hoping Playa Bike Repair has nice, cushioned saddles on their bikes.

Leap, for the past few years our camp gift was installing foam and a piece of fur over bike seats. Bring a piece of foam 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick. Big enough to wrap around a bike seat. Bring a cloth or piece of fur the same size. Tie it on with cord, long zip ties, thick rubber bands (if it's fur), or even string. Your butt will thank you.

Cut out all the bubble warp covers for vents & windows in the RMC. (Made a beer cozy and insulated PlayMate lid with the left overs. )
Sanding and paint prep for the battery box on the bike.
Moved a marker light on the trailer that was behind the awning support. (don't need a pull over hassle.... even though it has been that way for years...)
Learning how to use my new Baofeng UV‑82HP radios.
Making adjustments to food/beverage list.

I haven't posted in a really long time but last night when I completed this three hour step ONE of my playa gift project, I knew you fuckers would be the only ones to understand! I've done 100, and 200, in past years but if things go how I would like in my regular life it will be a number of years before I am able to return to the playa after this year... so go big or go home, 300 lip balms this year... "Burning Balm" for all you crazys!!

Now I just have to clean, cap, label, cut t-shirts for yarn, then string them...shit...how long do we have left?!
