Juju! I brought 68 gallons of Chai, I would have shared some with you, Geeze!- chai tea
Shit! I forgot my___________.
I had so much of the stuff people forgot...
and I would have gladly shared it with the lot of you.

The combination to the new lock I bought just 2 days previously as a replacement for the old bikelock I used in 2002. Without taking off the lock I had a hell of a time taking off the bikerack (which was chained to the bike and my car) and getting to the stuff in my hatch. Wandered around for a while looking for a hacksaw or bolt cutters, finally gave up, dug thru my stuff till I found some visegrips I brought to deal with rebar and broke one of the chainlinks. Fortunately, I still had the old lock with me.
Definitely shouldn't need to check in - 2002 was my boyfriend's first year going to BM (I couldn't get the time off from my new job), and he pretty much told me, "I'm going to be out of *all* contact for the whole week. Don't expect a phone call." Okay...cool. There was only one time I really needed to get ahold of him (it was kind of an emergency with the family felines), but I survived intact. Of course, I didn't know there was a TOWN close by BM...with a functioning PHONE, dammit...!OregonRed wrote:heat wrote:My boyfriend.
And spent hours riding the bus to Gerlach on different days, to check in..
But don't ever, EVER "check in" again.
After attending my first BM this year, I totally saw that there's no TIME to think about trucking all the way into Gerlach just to use the Landline Leash to tell a significant other about things they're probably not going to relate to anyhow...("I wanted to call you hon, but I was busy getting my pussy shaved and lost track of time...") In case of a family emergency, one can always do the Nevada Info phone thing to contact the LLC in Gerlach.
Oh, yeah - and the one thing I truly forgot this year was my new didgeridoo that I'm still learning to play. I remembered that I forgot it right around Gresham (we live in downtown PDX) and we were already behind schedule. Everything else falls under the category of "What I Should Have Brought This Year And Didn't".
Me <-- biggest idiot
After packing everything the night before, all I had to pack was my "suitcase" with all my clothes and tolitries for the trip. I got that bag as far as the back of the truck... where it stayed.
I had NO personal items: had to restock everything I could at Walmart.
Good that came of it: Kewl new hawaiian shirts for $5 each.

Oh yeah, We build a Geodesic Dome for 2002, and we brought it along this year as our main structure point. About 25 feet across and 15 feet high. Well we are well outta town, all excited about the man, when i suddenly realized we forgot all the bolts to join the poles together. So we had no choice but to go back for it. Was worth it in the end though.
