Portland to BRC - Directions and Services

For anyone traveling to BRC from the Portland, OR area, I compiled a list of services along the way - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing.

The first tab includes directions that are a combination of those on the Getting There and Back page on the main Burning Man website plus a few of my own additions. The remaining tabs show the various services - gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. - for each major segment of the journey starting with I-5.

I did my best to list them in order and tried to stick with places that were within a mile or two of the main route so as to minimize significant detours. Where I could find them, I included addresses, phone numbers and hours of operation.

I want to add that coming up through Klamath Falls, you better be ready to churn on through without stopping because all the hotels are booked solid for Crater Lake Labor Day vacationers.

I pull a small camping trailer. I prefer not to tow with a full fresh water tank (300 lbs). I might carry a few gallons for the odd flush or dish washing.

I always tank up at the John=O Ranch 3 miles south of Cedarville just off the highway on County Road 27 (you can see the ranch house from the highway). John has been doing this for years...goodhearted person. His water comes from a cool artesian well. Hoses long enough to reach either side of you RV/trailer. There's a guest register and a cowboy boot for donations. After filling drive toward the ranch house to the wide turn-around.

Prolly best to call ahead to make sure he's got the hoses out at the time you plan to get there (530-219-2372)
