Need RV driver from LA with some cool chicks!

Post by mikiashyoga » Wed Aug 17, 2016 10:46 am

Hello! We are 4 girls, with an RV and lack of experience driving such a big car.
We are hoping to connect with another rad human who could join us in our journey to the burn in exchange for the ride + some yummy meals along the way.
We are all super easy going!

please contact here or [email protected] if you think you are the one!!

lots of love.

You 'd still tell them they are cramming too many people into that RV. :)

Then you might volunteer.

Good luck mikiashyoga!

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Rideshare & Resource Sharing board, since that's a better fit.

You should probably clarify whether the driver you are seeking would also be sharing in the RV space at the burn, or whether you're just looking for someone who can do the driving for you. Additionally, you should mention your travel dates (or date range, if you're flexible).

You can do it yourself.

Drive at a reasonable speed. Watch your mirrors. When you get gas be sure you can fit under any overhangs. Watch out for overhanging trees. If you have to back up have your team get out of the vehicle and direct you. Don't drive tired. Tie everything on securely and check it at stops, don't cover the license plate on the back with stuff. Ask your rental place for tips.

The rental may make require your fifth party driver sign the contract. It is a lot to ask someone to dedicate that much drive time just in exchange for a ride.

Uhhh, why do I have this impulse to burn my camp infrastructure, tell my camp to go blow a goat, and head down to LA all of a sudden?

CG is too experienced and intelligent to volunteer for this. I'm going to keep this thread clean and neat, I've made my feminist contribution. Done.

Coda: my comment on contracts and insurance is about economic risk. Most people do not understand how to evaluate risk or economic risk. It is easy to say in the BM culture "you should gift your economic risk to me" in the outside world because that is how it appears to work on the inside world. It is a fascinating cultural and philosophical discussion. Risk is far from free in any economy, culture or world. But we can get endorphins for believing no risk.

Direction of my statement is not correct, too late to edit, though should be understandable to readers.

Correct is "You should allow me to, and I expect you to, accept my economic risk because I'm gifting it to you. Outside the festival, where it is specious, and inside the festival, also specious. Because festival culture."
