Google Maps must have a prankster in their midst FIXED
I pity the fool who doesn't look at the survival guide and just plugs "Black Rock City" into their smart phone (officially a dumb phone once they follow these directions:
Do it yourself "Nixon, NV" to "Black Rock City, NV" or follow the link below:
I'm all for pranks, but this one could be dangerous....anyone know how to contact Google?

Re: Google Maps must have a prankster in their midst
I'm giving this a nudge over to Transportation since that's a better fit.
As with any mapping web site or program, it may be worthwhile to get a second opinion. It could be anything from a prank or (more likely) random error, or (even more likely) on whatever day they updated directions in that region a section of road may have been out.
To give Google feedback about their site, you would of course do that on their site. On the page you linked, at the very top left is a menu. One of the menu options is to send feedback.

The real funny is that they have all the streets in BRC and gate road mapped out.
Pan to BRC and in maps and be amazed.

Information on Nevada Road 34
Google maps is now telling us that Nevada Road 34 is the preferred route from Cedarville to BRC. In the past we have always come down NV 447. Does anyone know if NV 34 is paved? Google says we shave 10 min off our trip. But we do not want to be stranded on gravel roads with a flat tire and no cell service.

Re: Information on Nevada Road 34
There's an error on Google Maps where it thinks the road just north of the fork above Gerlach is disconnected. It'll therefore route you through one of the northern roads to compensate.

I've merged the google maps glitch threads
Re: Google Maps must have a prankster in their midst
Token that is pretty funny. The more you zoom in, the more camps are shown on the map. Weird choice of landmarks. At least nobody was camped on my spot.

Slightly off topic, but I always think it's so cool that Google has the street names updated each year before the event.
