Seeking a Place to Park in Reno, or a ride to Reno from Truckee

Hi Friends! I'll be coming up from the Central Coast of California to meet my ride to the Playa at the Reno Airport on Thursday, 8/25. I'm looking for a place to park my car in Reno from 8/25 until 9/6, without paying the airport's parking rate. Alternately, I could park at a friend's place in Truckee, in which case I'd be seeking a ride from there to the Reno Airport. I can pay for the parking place or ride with money, or by bartering for music lessons on banjo or guitar. (I'm a professional musician and music teacher.)

Just something to consider, I've heard bad things about leaving cars unattended for the duration of the burn in Reno. Your friend's place in Truckee sounds like a better option, if you can get a ride.

Good advice. I've been in contact with people who would let me park on the street in front of their house, but they gave me the same warning. My car could get broken into or towed.

yeah some ass bitch just went around breaking car windows in my neighborhood for no fucking reason. We got hit saturday night, didnt steal anything just shattered a window. fucker!

Last I checked Amtrak station in Truckee offers some free long term (1 week) parking. The train to Reno from there is pretty cheap. Leaves about 3 pm.

If you're still looking, I have a nice safe place in Reno where you would be more than welcome to park. I have a driveway that runs down behind the house. (Also a very safe neighborhood). Let me know.
