Stayed up wayyyy too late last night doing laundry and making a few gifts. I got 4.5 hours of sleep.

Tonight & tomorrow morning are the rest of the packing . . . I resolve to get 7 hours of sleep in there somewhere.

Booze acquired. Most of the food shopping is done too, except that which needs to be kept cold...will do that on the way. Last load of laundry that I need to finish packing clothes is in the washer. Vac sealed a couple of boil-in-a-bag meals. Aired up the bike tires so I could give it a quick test ride to make sure all is still in working order (thankfully, it is). Still so much to do......

Well at least work has been easy - I don't know why they thought this week's schedule would be hard. Today is really easy, I'm getting sent to Lopez Island. I've got about ten minutes of actual "work" to do there, but it's about a 12 or 13 hour day because of ferry schedules and such.

At home, on the other hand... I need more time!!!!!

Vacation time officially entered into the HR system. BONUS: We have 16 hours of company paid volunteer time. My boss approved my two 4 hour shifts at the airport! So that's one less vacation day I have to spend.

Just went to barber to get my hair done. #1 all the way around.

Well, got the flag, for our little sub-camp, made last night (flag, pole, and light on top). Got my vest lit up like a Christmas tree. Tonight I have to make the chili for the Barbie Death Camp cookoff and disassemble the table so it will fit in the RV.

Got the radios programmed (baofeng uv 82). Had to resort to using the menu as the USB cable did not arrive in time to use the computer.

Got both USB power bricks charged.

It never stops.......

Started awake at 2AM, how could I be so stupid? Clearly the Thursday sunset jams playlist was lacking sufficient Michael Jackson representation. Of course couldn't go back to sleep so lets start the day. Nothing better than espresso and 4 hours of uninterrupted focus to check off 90% from the list.

Went on a shopping trip... to get a few things. ha ha hah ahahahahaha ahahahahahahahahhhhhaaaaaaa! erm.
So many volunteer items that looked cool, and were only a few bucks. WAY TOO MANY of those.
Many things with utility beyond the one week, so, I guess it's all good.

UTILITY, what a concept. I'm wishing that I can steer towards it and away from "if it isn't a kitchen sink, bring it."

I am thinking of ditching the trike this year. The axle is a tiny bit bent, we found it when a very dear friend worked tirelessly to fix the roller brake, and clean and grease all the axle bearings. The old axle nut I used as comparisson to get some new ones is stripped, and now I need to look at the axle threads... don't have a die large enough to cut them clean, and bought SAE nuts because a bolt of the same size was matching mostly the stripped one I had. more threads going on than normal for a mis-match. They didn't have any large metric nuts to compare, and I just went o.k. I'll try this. Since it is stripped, I couldn't be absolutely certain. (But I've never had a bike that wasn't all metric.) Friggin confusion, and I don't want to spend a day on it on playa, wandering to fixing camps. I'd rather clean a chain on my two wheeler, transfer the tires, and rack and baskets... sheesh. I put it off because in my gut I knew it was going to be a nightmare. I have all day tomorrow, and I know I'll find a way to be late. Thankfully I don't have anyone waiting on me for arrival coordination.

I will put a sign on the computer that says "NO MORE MUSIC DOWNLOADS!!!!!! YOU HAVE ENOUGH... and no playlist making either."

The fu#%ing auto shop has had my car for a week, charged me $2,038.00; and my motherfu#%ing AC is still not working. The outside temp display shows - 38° F instead of actual 70° F. Did they change the sensor? Nope. Taking it back tomorrow. Plan is on, even without AC... Yeah, I know...white man problem.

Driving Sunday during daytime,, packing Saturday after Stand-down in Marysville, California. All the things are in piles ready to load.

If my limo is approved as a disability vehicle, I'll give some rides. I might even give some people in Reno a lift into BRC. I have to stop at will call first though. Got a ticket? Got gas money? Sure, hop in the back.

OK, Plan A failed, Plan B failed, on to Plan C.

I took off yesterday, Sunday morning. I got 10 miles out of town and a radial tire delaminated. It did not blow out, so I crept into Gridley at 10 mph. Schwab's Tires was closed Sundays, so I camped out in the parking lot.

Today Monday, they sold me a tire for $105, mounted it and checked all pressures. Good to go. I've decided to go up 20 instead of 70. Drove home, ate a good breakfast. Got some frozen roma tomatoes, eggs and cheeze out of the frig.

Now to the bank for some more gas money...and I'm on my way...AGAIN !

356 days until the man Burns. Packing list refined. Plan C worked. Limo couch worked out. Used adult trike to get around. Limo approved as a disability vehicle, but BRC Rangers kept stopping me. Flags and stickers were ignored. One crazy bitch jumped on my hood and started yelling. WTF, a little more more training needed I think.

Mild days with wind up afternoons. Dusty as usual. Good burn but miffed bleab explosions/ fireworks. Learned a little about stucco painting, start light, layering, and thinning with lye water.

I loved the workshops under the Man. A yearly maker space would be great. Next year?

Oldguy I'm glad it worked out for you. You should get two of those flag holders that go on the front of the hood. (Like in a presidential convoy.) One could be your family crest, the other your disability permission flag.

Did you give any rangers a lift?

Ratty, good idea about the multiple flags. I have a collection of disability flags for next year.

It seems that I have a different set of new problems every year to solve. It keeps me on my toes.

I went on the Artery tour Wednesday, weddings everywhere. Listened to the Hat press conference a little while. Interesting path that the global community and regionalism are taking. I did not see a single drum circle this year, no opportunity to keep time with my tin cup....

After three years of asking a single wheel chair motor to do all the work, it finally burned out.

Did away with the belt drive single motor to a two motor direct drive!!!

Today I'm determined to empty my van. It's liberating to divide the contents into a yes and NO pile. Sure, it may end up as a pile in my back yard but at least i can go to the carwash.

Most everything is out of my car, partly in the garage with some of the bins already cleaned & sorted. The roof rack is off and I actually washed the car yesterday... now the driveway is all beige, for some strange reason! Haven't tackled the inside yet, but that's OK, 'cause I have tinted windows so nobody can see all the dust in there.

Sold the van, dust filled and all .. Sorted all into crates .. Thanks to all that fed me, had lots of food left .. Starting to salvage the art-bike .. Will redo the frame this winter .. New sprocket for the (Trusty Rust ) yellow trike .. It's going electric 2017..
