BMIR 2015 Archival Re-Broadcast

This just in from Bobzilla at BMIR...

Our rebroadcast of the 2015 BMIR archive has started early. You can listen right now via iHeart Radio (website or app, US only, all platforms) or the BMIR website, BMIR iOS app or Android app. BMIR was Christmas themed this year for event week so once the event week portion of the archive starts it's perfect for the holidays!

Please note that while we can only support 250 concurrent listeners on the BMIR apps, we have unlimited listener capacity via iHeart, which does not require you create an account and is banner ad free (they're Burners so they do this just for BMIR).

We have a live signal from BlackRockCity.

The stream however restarts every few minutes.

I have the stream alternated with some other songs, not to frustrate the servers.

The Streamguys only shoutcasted three or four times after a restart. Much better then some years ago .

Whatever happens at Burning Man, it will always be unexpected, unannounced and beautiful

And I only receive shattered parts of the jewels they try to share

Could be a watermill upstream, chopping the stream in just too big chunks (not downstream?)

I receive 2, 3 or more parts in sequence with large breaks in between
Parts are mostly less then a second and the breaks take at least more then 3 seconds.
(Yes I timed it)
If this is the same signal the Streamguys receive they will have time-outs every few minutes

Not that I know how anything in this system really works Just trying to fit loose ends.

The received chunks are growing, last part of a PSA and first half of a track.
And down again

A complete track - DJ Fendercop signing off - a PSA - PSA - a Mysterious PSA ? - a music track approaching 10 minutes.
Crash . . . in the last seconds just under ten minutes.

The alterations in the quality make me feel like its an analogue improvement curve. Something like the alignment of high frequency ham radio antennae into a line of sight connection.

Cant be ordinary wifi, the power required will not be allowed.

Think we can say its still getting better. Chunks of 10 minutes is not bad at all.

Seems there are still bandwidth problems.
The stream has been reduced to 48kbs mono.


And still the streamguys sometimes have to stop and restart to keep what there is in pace.

Still getting better, the last chunk lasted for an hour

It is time as I am getting bored by "Twirl me", the alternate track I use.

The BMIR flies an Amsterdam Flag again. (At a nearly 20 feet mast)

And the weather conditions for the couches along the streams

BMIR does a restart every 15 minutes at good quality.
The content is magnificent as far as received

The Youtube is currently suffering byte-out conditions,
We will never know if there is a city behind the blowing dust

The Raindog show was delivered just enough to make any sense of it, despite missing some conversations and half the audio tracks.

Then something magic happened, Caveat Magister entered the studio. After some unheard magical words the stream stabilised.

The Streamguys did not have to restart since.

We are happy with even seeing that dust covers the camera dome. It adds to the dustyness of the experience.
