What do people charge for trailers?
Since the man burns in less than 365 days, gotta start planning. What do people charge for trailers? Thinking like 4 people, pick it up in Reno (or on the playa, how does that work?)

Well for some, they book it with a deposit for a set price, then when scarcity starts putting the available rate up, it's cancelled for _______ reason, but then you see them have it up for rent at double, triple or quadruple what you had it booked at. You don't want to get caught out without due to that B.S. move.
Seen $1,400 per week units jump to $6,000.
There was at least one business that quit their franchise/chain, so they could take advantage of the scarcity.

That's one word I regret googling during breakfast.

Video games are giving kids unrealistic expectations on how many swords they can carry.

, but don't harm the red dragon that frequents the area from time to time. He and I have an agreement.

Is buying a used trailer, storing it and towing it to the burn out of the question? You can buy a serviceable trailer for 5K if you watch CL closely and can get a really great one from 8 to 10K any time. Just a few years of use will be the same expense as a few years of rental. The internet is rife with RV forums where you can educate yourself on everything in any RV down to the smallest component if you choose to look in to the purchase route over rent route.

I think renting any kind of RV for Burning Man is crazy. You can buy your own for less, and not be stuck with cleaning fees, generator fees, cancelled bookings, or a mad rush to get all your shit out of it right after the event.
You'd be amazed what paint, simple upholstery, contact paper and a little tinkering can do for a cheap old rig.
Mine has the total "glamper" treatment, everyone who sees it loves it, I've got all the comforts... big fridge, micro, A/C, hot shower, comfy bed... and I paid $1500 for it.
Shit, you don't have to spend anywhere near $5000!

How many feet or pounds is that $1500 rig, Captain...and what do you use to tow it? My Jeep has a 6500lb towing package but I'm dubious...it did do OK with a fully loaded 6x12 Uhaul cargo trailer once (surge brakes).

Re: What do people charge for trailers?
Mine is an 11.5 foot truck camper that I carry on a diesel dually Dodge. The camper weighs about 4000 pounds. (It's big for a truck camper, but small in the world of RVs in general.)
I use that because I also have to tow the Land Yacht.
I've found that a fully equipped but small "home" works great on the playa. Less volume means one A/C can totally chill the thing, and it's not like you go to BRC to hang out inside your rig anyway. It's just life support.

Really good idea. You've got sellers who will be motivated to sell over the next couple of months. They want to get rid of their toys before another year of non-use + storage fees + rainy season starts.
For best deals on trailers, buy from a private party between NFL playoffs and tax day.
For a Jeep, look at the lighter trailers like a popup, hybrid, or Casita/Burro.

Re: What do people charge for trailers?
I was hoping to rent, since we've got people coming in from out of state, and while I am in Reno, I don't have the room to store multiples (I already have my own glamper), so I'm trying to find a good solution for our crew.

Trailers get really small, really fast when you have multiple people in them. I have a 6 person trailer that I occupy solo. My shit is everywhere. In a pinch, I can make room for a camp mate or two, but I love my own space with a door, fridge and shower stall (no running water).

Re: What do people charge for trailers?
I'm forgoing the rental hassle by buying an RV this winter. Seems like I can get one for a steal in the wintertime (I've been studying the prices for a while now) and I'll have about 10 months to rehab the engine and interior. Plus, the benefit of buying one is that I can decorate it in any ridiculous way I want.
Impressive. Very Nice. Let's see Paul Allen's card.
Re: What do people charge for trailers?
Sham, Is your shower stall turned into a storage unit/closet? I've lived in places like that.
