Wristbands.

Post by Atar » Thu Feb 02, 2006 9:36 pm

Hi there!

I have a question about the wristbands. Mainly: What are they like? Plastic or cloth? Personally I'd prefer the cloth one because most of the time you'll be able to wear those year-round. I've seen people wear their festival bands for over 3 years and they've worn down to a couple threads, its cool
Examples:

Cloth:

Plastic:

Which one? 8)

Burning Man does not use wrist bands, the only exception being for the "Gerlach Shuttle" (a shuttle that costs $5 and takes you into the nearest town of Gerlach Nevada and back )http://afterburn.burningman.com/04/comm ... depot.html

And then your wristband is removed once you re-enter the city.

Really, the wristbands are overkill once they've given you the ass branding.

Wrong thinking. Make your own wristbands and give them away at the event.

If you really need a wrist band

BMORG also uses wrist bands at the Black Rock City International Airport for pilots and passengers so they can go back and forth to their planes so if your really want a wristband fly in but fly in early they ran out last year.

I suspect that the passenger bands for the airport are the same as the bands for the shuttle. There's also a different band for the pilots.

The bus bands were a different color each day, the tape/film plastic type (tyvek?), quite inexpensive. I seem to remember writing the time on them with sharpie, but I could be wrong. I'll have to ask my co-volunteers what they recall.
