Many photographers know the vendor Lens Rentals for their technical testing and teardown of lenses. They are respected pros.
They are in there with the RV and vehicle rentals for getting rental items destroyed by playa dust.
They published their experience with a playafied pro camera body at https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2016/0 ... rning-man/. Would like to see a lens cleanup.
Of all the photo equipment suppliers, they are in the best position to detail playa dust on photo equipment - they routinely tear down and clean professional photography equipment. And yes you can break down your photo equipment to component parts and send them through an ultrasonic cleaner then reassemble.
