Politics, Everyday, All day... morning, noon and night....II
Re: Politics, Everyday, All day... morning, noon and night....II
Nicely stated. I could a bit more, but I think the bulk of the masses will have already had their minds obfuscated enough by the entire process, it would simply be overload.
I would like to treat my gas pedal as a binary operator and get the cooperation of everyone in front of me!

This is a great documentary, I suggest you watch it all. She's actually a pretty impressive person.

After watching "Hillary Clinton's America" I came away with almost exactly the opposite impression.

I don't know anyone who'd not say Hillary is impressive.
but, impressive, does not necessarily equate good, capable, honest, or trustworthy.
she seems to be, *arguably*, the lesser evil of two worthless candidates.

Imagine how much worse it would have been if people weren't so concerned about being murdered by them, a la Vincent Foster.

The mere fact we are presented with such poor choices is a testimony to how far we have fallen as a nation. It saddens me to know most people are going to be voting against someone, rather than for someone.forty_eight wrote:it's impressive that after the hundreds of millions spent to tarnish the clinton brand that it will prevail in the upcoming election

impressive!
Not enough people willing to stand up and scream, "Enough is enough!". It frightens me to think what it would take to get the public angry enough to actually step up to do something about these situations we find ourselves in.
If you are voting for Clinton, or Trump, you are just feeding the mediocrity entrenched in a system much in need of a shake up.

well said. yeah, and it's not an easy "against the other" vote, IMHO, knowing your house will get burned down, just deciding who to hand the match to.Skuzzy61 wrote:The mere fact we are presented with such poor choices is a testimony to how far we have fallen as a nation. I'd also submit, it's not "mediocrity" but rather "greed and polarization". People tend to "hate" on "the other side". And all want, all they can get, by whatever means they can get it. Society, be damned, since people have the real perception, most of the fruit has been picked and we are fighting to get what's left.
and yeah, "enough is enough".....and that's the problem with the sheep... they won't just reject it......they'll hold their nose and vote a despicable character (take your pick) instead of "the other one", when, the real power would be to not vote for either. Send the message. But no, most want to take "the lesser of two evils", and claim their choice is "not nearly as bad". When the facts are, both major candidates are a waste of good air.
*steps off soapbox*

that's just more self fulfilling hyperbole lacking any context for the makeup, content and output of US politics over the course of our entire historySkuzzy61 wrote:

As is rationalizing choices as it is much easier than to actually work to fix what is broken. One one hand you admit it is bad, but on the other, you support it. How can that be viewed as anything but a shining example of what is wrong with our political system today?forty_eight wrote:that's just more self fulfilling hyperbole lacking any context for the makeup, content and output of US politics over the course of our entire historySkuzzy61 wrote:

Yes, it is not just the poor choices we are presented with, it is the fact we accept them instead of rejecting them. I posit, if you believe either of the candidates are the best we have to chose from, for the leader of our country, then you (collectively) are part of the problem.
I cannot bring myself to accept this is the best we have. I cannot accept, nor maintain, the status quo. We, the people of this nation, have the power to make it better. We just have to chose to do it.
