So you asked for an introduction.
I've been dreaming of attending BM for about 10 years. Life just always seems in the way. The last of my four children graduate this year and I am treating myself with finally getting off my ass and attending. I am an experienced primitive camper, so I am not to concerned with the logistics.
I am a published fiction writer and a painter. I come from a family of successful if not dysfunctional painters. So I am really looking forward to just getting lost in the art, in all it's forms. I am mostly interested in engaging in and being connected to the community, be it special things at the event, or discussions. I think probably if I could boil down the single most important thing I would be looking for at Burning Man it would be "meaningful interactions." You know, great conversations, a perfect hug, raucous laughter. Those kinds of things.
Well anyway, if I can figure out this ticket thing, I look forward to meeting folks at BM. I am open to advice on how to find a group or camp that best fits your outlook as I have very few contacts with people that attend.
I'll be coming from Western Ohio and I am connected with the local folks through Burning Man - Ohio on Facebook.
Thanks all,
New and Attending - Greetings

Hola and hello...
stick around and you will find lots of good tips and ideas. You may also find a camp that fits you! Making connections early and often here at eplaya as well as other places can help land a person a ticket sometimes.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome to ePlaya! It's quiet here this time of yaer, but there's still a decade of information at your fingertips.
The ePlaya search feature may or may not have been tuned up recently. YOu might try also using Google and include "ePlaya" in the search words. That's been known to find stuff better.
A philosophical question, with absolutely no offense intended:
The term "published writer" has puzzled me a long time. If a person's work has not been successfully printed an dsold, is he actually a writer, or an aspiring writer?
Please post some of your paintings. Looking forward to seeing them!

Welcome. We can't wait to meet, talk and hug. It's great that you're an experienced camper. You don't NEED a camp to join but if it fits......You can always buy an expensive ticket when they go on sale. (If it's in your budget.) Are you flying or driving? That makes a huge difference in planning. Anyway, welcome to ePlaya.

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.
