Greetings fellow burners. I hope you don't mind that I brought my dog, as I am planning on drinking heavily tonight and he is a damn good driver (for a dog). Right now it is Fireball. When this bottle is finished the beer should be cold enough. Hoping to drink myself to sleep and wake up in the morning to learn our county's (Amerika's) fate. Anyway, if anyone cares to join me in a little binge tonight, I'm buying.

I was just checking out Kiwiburn and it looks fun, a bit like the regional here (Youtopia), but maybe smaller. Anyone here been there? Right hand driving can't be that hard to get used to. Something about the southern hemisphere sounds appealing right about now. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that most nuclear weapons and their targets reside in the northern hemisphere. Anyway, bottoms up. Damn, this Fireball is good...warms my heart and sedates my mind. Come on Morpheus.

Morning bar :coffee:

Hope all that drank last night so not have hangovers today. It's going to be a bumpy ride...

It really scares me that we have an orange prez, red house, red senate. Will any damage they may possibly do be irreparable? Time will tell. In the meantime I'll continue to love my loved ones all the more harder and speak out when I see someone being treated less than fair due to their gender, status, skin color, religion, etc.

I'm saddened and shocked but the ugly uneducated majority has spoken. So be it.

Nv has passed legalized mj so that is at least a small light in my world.

Good morning! I do believe I fell asleep up there!

I'm not the least bit worried. Because.... Worrying doesn't do any good!

Sure, the next four years are going to be interesting. And yes, I know about the "ancient Chinese curse". But our political system definitely needs an overhaul, and you know the saying about having to break the egg to make an omelet.

So I'm thinking... four years of Trump ought to break enough eggs for the population to finally rally. There HAVE to be millions of us who did not vote, or voted for a "3rd" candidate. Four years from now, I expect we will have most of them mobilized to turn the country around.

Meanwhile.... We now have proof of... well, either one of two things, or both:

A. An immense number of Americans are SO desperately disgusted with the dysfunctional system that they voted to break as many eggs as they possibly could -- even without a kitchen to make omelets of them.

B. An immense number of Americans are... stuck in a self-reinforcing loop of illiteracy, hooliganism, mind-narrowing, lemming-following, incomprehension, alienation, mob-culture, religious doctrine, misinformation, lowest-common-denominator, false-hero-worshiping... downward spiral of despair, of which they are not even themselves aware.

That's as far as I've been able to think this morning.

I think I'll make a short Kahlua and cream. I just ate about a cup of cereal. You know that loose stuff at the bottom of the bag? Well, next box of frosted mini wheat that I open I'll just stomp it to dust, add a quarter cup of powdered sugar and eat it with a spoon. Dry. It was yummy.

Hmm we have a 'van Oranje' royalty . . .

Anyway even with Orange in top legality of mj is still a point of discussion. At least, as long as the shops require a shady backdoor delivery.

After seeing those low-life idiots rioting in Oakland yesterday, I am more convinced than ever the Occupy Movement suffers from Dunning-Kruger Effect. What moron would run out on the freeway, get hit by a car, then when the motorist goes to help, smash her car windshields? What am I missing here?

Rioting and looting in Oakland again?

Decade or two ago, in my trucking job, I sometimes picked up Gatorade at their bottling plant in Oakland, off East 14th Street. That's such a rough neighborhood... the City has since changed the name of the street in hope of shedding the stigma.

Well, since I visited there from time to time, I noticed when that street was in the news.

An Oakland ball team (football, I think, but don't quote me) lost a match, in response to which... fans of that team rioted and looted in their own neighborhood.

So I'm thinking... this must be an indication of how frustrating life is in some communities. That is... for patently irrational behavior to lurk so close to the surface.

I live in an old trailer-house on a dirt street. But I must be very very fortunate.

I'd say the "patently irrational behavior" is much more than frustrations from living in Oakland......though I could easily see that as frustrating......

Yep, all of that too, and no doubt more. And all of it intertwined with everything else.
