greetings from harrisburg PA
hello everyone, My nickname is Knubs due to me being born missing fingers and my leg. I am trying to go to BM this year and I have been preparing since I have heard of it. I am also interested in finding some local Burners in my area, maybe we can go up this year together. I am a friendly soul and always do my best to help give back to this universe and planet. I am going to do everything in my power to make it this year. I am a local artist and just started spinning poi and hoping to be spinning fire this year.
Greetings to all and I hope to make a lot of new friends this year and I will be at this years BM at BRC.
Blessed be to all and may the gods and goddesses watch over us all.

Re: greetings from harrisburg PA
Thank you i feel welcomed already. Im really looking forward to this years BM and ot will be my first time so i will be askig a lot till then. From what ive read in some of the discussions it will be easier getting a ticket knowing aome local burners then to try and do it alone. That being said im sure youll see me asking a lot of virgin questions. Ive always been the odd ball so i feel i fit right in haha. On to the bar of discussions.
Thank you AntiM

Welcome, Knubs!
Be sure to check out some of the local Pennsylvania Burner Community get togethers! It's a great way to get to know people from the various groups here that go.

Welcome, Knubs!
If you get stuck on any questions, google your keyword and eplaya and it will show you all the times we've already beat the subject into the ground.
If you're still stuck after that, you will find us a ready source of information.
Definitely get to know other Pennsylvania Burners and burners in nearby states. You'll still wanna register for a ticket:
http://tickets.burningman.org/
But if you don't get one in any of those sales, knowing local Burners and working on local projects is the best way to remain tied to the Burner community.

Best of luck to you!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

And set up an "account", called Burner Profile.

Knubs, welcome to ePlaya. Do search locally for like minded people. It's more than just a tool to join the in-crowd. It's great fun all year. I feel I have to warn you now.
If you become a dyed in the wool burner you'll have a box of 'burner stuff'. Then 2 boxes. Then a closet, a room, a garage and finally a storage unit full of otherwise useless stuff. Weird tarps, tents and necessary items such as an evapatron or beat up bike. The whole mess covered with dust that you can never completely wash off .
You'll all of a sudden get great joy from odd pieces of hardware at Home Depot.
You'll pull the car over to pick up some discarded piece of interesting plastic or metal just because it looked useful or artsy.
Every person wearing fur boots, a funny hat or wild colors will remind you of TTITD. (That thing in the desert.)
You will constantly buy more items that you absolutely NEED for the next burn.
Grocery shopping gets more interesting and hopefully you'll waste hours on end playing with us on eplaya. Welcome. can't wait to hug you.

Along with what Ratty said, anytime you see a school bus, you'll stare at it, visualizing turning it into your digs for a week.
