We had a wonderful rainstorm last night, and dear friend, Ron Chilston, took a picture from Jerome of a visitation by a cool-looking Burning Man! Cool, eh?

This friend, Ron Chilston, is an amazing professional photographer, and has the best view from his front porch. It overlooks some roofs in Jerome, being near the top of town, and in this picture, the two yellow-lit parts are in Jerome, while all the rest of the lit up parts are way down in the valley in Clarkdale. Jerome's population at last census was 444. (My mailbox is Box 4!)

I just got done perusing a couple of his sites, and you weren't kidding, Ron's work is very impressive! I think he has a terrific eye, and like all great photographers, he knows where to be situated at a given moment in order to get beautiful shots.

Well Patsh, it certainly seems apparent to me that Jerome (pop. 444) has the good fortune of having at least two very cool people in town!

yeah sorta bitter/sweet. Had some great times with it, made it on a fluke impulse, while looking at the camper on my flatbed, and thinking how it'd fit on the fire truck.....and it fit perfectly. all dimensions are just withing "legal", angles worked, dimensions.....so that happened.

I'm sure I'll not get the waves in my RV, but comfort and practicality dictate the change. Well, and a super good deal on the RV.

Frankencamper will still go to the playa, though it sounds like it'll look very different, but very cool.

I hope the new owner will post pictures of its 'change of life', or at least tell us where it'll be in BRC.

And, congratulations, Yggy! Movin' on up! (or over, at least!) RV, eh?


On another note, this morning was the annual March for Meals, which benefits the Verde Valley Senior Center, and Meals on Wheels. We had a great turnout! Slowest two mile walk EVER... we try not to leave the ones pushing walkers too far behind.

Morning Antio, Jump in the hot tub. You won't be a virgin anymore. This year we can all try to spot the Frankencamper. I hardly take any pictures at the event. I took this one without knowing who it belonged to. (I couldn't wrap my head around it).

Boy, that picture brings back memories. We spent a summer in Big Sur. When the bars close we would all carpool to Esalen for a hot tub and massage. $2 for locals. The tubs at that time were huge bathtubs under an enclosure looking over the cliff. The waves were lit by spot lights. Magical. That year I learned how to camp for free. (Actually $1 per night).

Thanks Elliot, ah Big Sur! Passed by last summer, park was closed because of a wildfire. It was so sad watching the smoke
