Hi from the UK :)

Hi eplaya!

Tom from the UK here - planning my first burn for this year - so thought I should say hullo and thank everyone for the huge volume of great advice on these forums (even if the search function is god awful).

I was due to be attending with 7 others from the UK, in our own little camp, with some shade, some English Gin and misc bits and bobs (like spare dust masks, torches, bandanas, chapsticks etc) to gift however we've had a pretty major ticketting disaster so that plans out of the window!

...Long story short, I'm now in a camp of 2 and the other 6 are off to Vegas instead. Tis a shame, but they'll probably have a better time there than they would in the dust. Hoping to meet up with some other UK burners who have posted on reddit offering to group up in a village type affair.

Having done my reading on here I am confident we can still have a good time and contribute something worthwhile even though there ends up being only two of us. (Any suggestions welcome :) ). We're planning to build an extended monkey hut, with a couple of tents under it, have a little shaded area in front and gift our time and energy into helping others with setup etc rather than bringing too many physical items / drinks to hand out, unless of course someone comes up with a good idea I can steal!

Currently learning to solder to adapt some aliexpress LED strips to fit in a second hand shop faux fur Hoodie (I've always wanted one), sew to alter a hat, and figure out where on earth we should stay for the couple of days before the burn while we grab some supplies.

Anyhow - hi, excited to see you all in a few months time! :)

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
