VIRGINia!!!

Post by NappyHeadedHo » Tue Apr 11, 2017 8:40 pm

HAAAYYYYYYY erryone!

I've been lurking around on ePlaya for a couple of months now, but I don't recall ever technically introducing myself.
My name is Heather (or Ginger!) and I'm a virgin from VA...can't spell Virginia without virgin! - ahh okay done with that.

I managed to get 2 tickets in the main sale for myself and my boyfriend (still looking for a vehicle pass), and we are beyond excited to be on the playa with everyone in August!
I camped with my family every summer while growing up, and have been to a couple of music festivals during my adult life (Big Dub, Barefoot), but get this....neither me or my boyfriend have really ever left the east coast! And beyond that, neither of us have been as far as even New York, or Florida.
With that being said, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW FREAKING STOKED WE ARE FOR BURNING MAN.

One of the biggest struggles I have in life is trying to figure out how I can "be myself" and still fit in with society....and I've found out that its really hard to actually make that work. Now that we finally have the opportunity to attend Burning Man, I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT TO BE HOME FOR A WEEK!
OH GOODNESS YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITED I AM TO BE AT HOME WITH EVERYONE! ....or maybe you do. :P

YAYYY!

My question might be quite straightforward, but you got me curious at: "how I can be myself and still fit in with society... and I've found out that it's really hard to actually make that work."

What is it about you that makes it so hard to be yourself and make it work? :)

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I suppose its not one specific thing in particular....I just feel that its hard to find like-minded people where I live. I know that people will always judge, and I don't let that bother me (at least not nearly as much as it used to) ....its probably a mix of my overwhelming social anxiety and only knowing very few people in my vicinity whom I feel I can connect with on a personal level.

Either way, I am very, very excited to travel across the country for the first time and spend a week at THE COOLEST FREAKIN PLACE IN THE WORLD.

These past couple of months, especially since I've acquired tickets, my mind can barely focus on anything else. Just the fact that I'm leaving the east coast is enough to be antsy about...but I'm leaving the east coast AND going to Burning Man...OH CRAP...I barely even know what to do with myself right now (in the best way possible).

I infer that perhaps you'll be driving out, which is great! Especially since you've seen so little of the country up until now. Seeing it lay out before you mile after mile fills you up, and wears you out at the same time. Watching the land change utterly once you hit the Rockies, and then the dry rock and desert beyond is something you'll not soon forget. And then.. there's Burning Man! I'm excited for you both!
