Hof Party 2017

looking like June 23-25.
The only caveat is I have no idea about how the roads did through this heavy winter.
I'll report in as soon as it opens up, probably mid May?

Otherwise, remember all are welcome.
We might want/need to do some 4x4 carpooling, if the roads are especially bad, and also for some folks who may not have rough road capabilities.

And to help those of you who, like me, got lost last year driving to the Hof Party, the event is held 4.3 miles (on your right) after the pavement ends. Yes, you read that right: after the pavement ends. Last year I caught sight of a brown bear on my way home. I think I'll bring a pizza again this year since it went over so well last year! Heating up one of those Papa Murphy's on the cast-iron stove is an interesting exercise in "I sure as hell hope this is working."

I know our pickup would make it, as we went over slickrock to reach Toroweap. I just don't know if Larry can afford the time off, as we have E-11 in July. And vacations in Mexico to pay for.

Sorry to see that yg. I'm hoping that perhaps the gate is not damaged as bad as it might first appear, but the bridge... Ouch! The good news, if there is any, is that you have a good mind for handling large, heavy scale projects and repairs. This looks like a lot of work and expense though. Is that portion of the road County maintained by any chance?

Oh my. So. Exactly how bad was that drive in from the opposite direction? ( You know. The one that Trillo and Panni took because of their GPS.) I think they said it was like 16 miles of dry riverbed.
