yeah things slow down here, seems to have been a trend over the last couple of years, really.
I think it's a bit of a mix:
Facecrack, since it has an "app" for phones, is often easier and more immediate for folks, also that it connects them not only with Eplayans, but others.
It used to be faster paced, but a lot more "raw" in here. Often, not as polite and friendly, but also, more challenging and "edgy".
Nothing wrong with the new "kinder/gentler" eplaya (especially the bar), but I think some came here for the snark.

EGAZ, every year it seems we have the good fortune to have a few new people who really contribute here and do a great job putting their burn together. It's even better when they return to eplaya afterward and continue to be a part of the goings on here as you have.

..and yeah yg, I think you're right that Facecrack likely has a lot to do with things becoming progressively more quiet here the past couple years. For some, it's too snarky here, others, not snarky enough, haha! Ah well, good times!

Anyhow, I've found that gathering and building 'all of the things' has been consuming more and more time out of my days recently. I'd have to say it does come as a welcome change to the regular workload and certainly helps build up the excitement level. Those punch lists don't seem to be getting any shorter though.

Why thank you kind sir! I am trying to fill the stereotype of a know it all sophomore... LOL

Last year we had kind of a birgin class. This year not so much. I've chatted with LeonardPotatoe and he asks the right questions and is getting things done. But sadly I see few other birgins posting frequently. And I understand burnout too. Many have been doing this a long time.

I have been very active on the facespace BM groups: virgins, makers builders, hackers, my regional, etc. (even though I despise facespace) For one, it is ripe for ID theft. Most people do not have their pages locked down, enter their daily activities, and wonder why I can have a CC in their name, in 8-10hrs and $100 bucks. Two, their search engine blows. All the threads are long strings of repeated posts by date and activity. But I defend ePlaya over there and link to posts here often. I like forums because the data/info is easier to find at a later date. But I am in the ever growing minority.

If one wants/needs more snark, The Burning Man group is were you want to be. It's a zoo over there! I have no problem with snark & I can troll with the best, but there is a time and place. That said, I have no problem snarking those who do little to no research of their own. RSR baby! At least make some sort of effort chris sakes.....

I thinks a lot of it is many, (younger generation ) treat Facespace as a personal servant. Throw a question out, go on the merry way, come back when they feel like and see what they caught. It's easier because there will be someone that will do the work for them. When I have pointed this out, I get a responses that basically reinforce my belief that people are freakin' lazy. Having lived without internet for a good chunk of my life, it amazes my how many do not use all of its benefits.

I'm gonna be visiting some friends at Lake Isasbella this weekend. Be attending a minor league baseball game in Bakersfield on Sunday and be staying Sunday night in Bakersfield then Monday be heading to Lancaster to attend another minor league baseball game. Coming back Tuesday, stopping in Bishop to go to the train museum in Laws. Just outside of Bishop. Staying Tuesday night in Bishop having dinner at Holy Smokes Barbeque.
Lancaster don't sound to good, Bakersfield sounds worse but already have the tickets
