The google search for the recipe brings up:

3/4 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz Cognac
3/4 oz Lemon Juice

This is (from what I understand) *not* right. I understand that in order to truly make it you should use Cointreu instead of the Triple Sec *and* instead of just tossing in some lemon juice you muddle lemons with the booze and ice, strain and serve in a glass that's been rimmed in sugar. The lemon peel gives off a slightly bitter taste - it would have been less spectacular and complex with just the juice.

The ones we had, Sensei, were Pear Brandy sidecars.
It's all about the squirrels.

It's not waxed paper- didn't you know we have drinkin' boxed beer? It's way easier to transport, and it comes in little ones perfect for school lunches. They have a special 'stay fresh' lining, so it's all good. And you don't have to use the straw if you don't want to- it has a pouring spout.

I can find a bottle if you'd rather.

i've found that cointreau is a bit bitter for a good side car. the orange liqueur is the key ingredient (i'll keep the ones i use secret, just cause) though, the other stuff is just nuance. and i go with a vsop brandy instead of cognac.

why didn't anyone wanna know about the bmw? it's girlie and booze death all rolled into one...

yeah - but i think the point is that it's not as critical to the overall flavor as is the other stuff, so you can get away with skimping.

Lessee now... A Cherry Blossom (with sidecar) and two (2) Pear Brandy Sidecars (each with sidecars) makes, *hiccup* six (6) drinks... But who's counting? Cheez Whiz, no wonder I couldn't remember 'Pear Brandy Sidecar'.

Nope, ya' gotta have two (2). That's the wunnerful thing about the sidecar concept. You drink the sidecar while admiring the look, feel and taste of the Sidecar.

Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it.

Rian Jackson wrote:well, talked to the boy re: tonight. made the mistake of telling him why i wasn't jumping to come over.

he starts in on how he had no idea (i didn't want to dump it on him because he couldn't deal with it) even though i'd tested the waters - mentioned the, um, personal mess from this week and how much it was tearing me up, and then yesterday, and he either laghed (in the first case) or ignored it (in the second). The man hadn't even had a spare moment to really ask or care how i've been for seven days.

and so he starts in on how it's my fault about... well, that shit i talked to you about earlier this week, Guin, because i 'let' this person create drama... and i'm sitting here going, um, no, and besides, laughing at me is not an appropriate response' and he lights into me. I just dropped the phone. I was gonna start crying otherwise. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT SHIT TO ME AT WORK!!!

i'm trying to be fucking honest and he's mad at me - as in, pouting and not going to go to santacon because i'm not *just* spending it with him - because i haven't completely marked my calendar for the days he says he told me he was off (i have no recollection of this) this weekend.

fuckin' a. i don't know what's going to happen now, honestly. i'm pretty convinced he's angry as hell for hanging up on him. but fuck.... heaven forbit i be honest about where i am to complete lack of emotional support.

i wanna be a hermit.

i hate people.
Damn Someone tried to PM me and I was directed here by the eplaya ghost ... I did not expect to see this. Fuck.... Well I do not know who it was because there really was no message other than " you have a PM or what ever the fuck gets posted when some one PM a person. I have seen and heard and will only say Do not try and press my buttons. What goes on between Rian and my self is not any thing you need to report on. If she feels the need to Vent to her friends on her then I support that fully. This is some where she feels safe and she has every right to do so with out some fuck face reporting on her. I can only assume that is what you were attempting to do. Rian feel free to continue to Vent on here.
To the person that PM me.... You can try and stir the pot but it does not mean I will eat at the dinner table with you. Mind you Manners.

Maybe that mystery person wasn't trying to stir the pot.

Maybe they were trying to help you understand what RJ is going through, and how frustrated she is because of pouting and poor communication.

Sometimes venting isn't enough.

Just a thought.

This could be true but the point is some one did it with out identifying them selves and I am sure that Rian is quite capable of defending her self... As a matter of fact she called just at the same time the PM came to me..... We are really able to deal with our own baggage.
Thanks for the suggestions. And always remember you are only hearing her side or the story. I am making the choice to to share my side because I am not willing to stir the pot any more. There are a few people that know me quite well. Interpretation of a situation is usually one sided.

Nipper beat me to this, but here's mine, anyway:

Maybe that was it, but to me it seemed she was doing what Nipper thought- venting. And I trust Rian to communicate in her own way and her own time- she can PM him as well as anyone else, and she has other options. I'd also say that if they were trying to help him understand, a brief sentence to that effect might have been helpful.

I don't know what they were trying to do.

I don't know a lot of things. [Including, as Nipper points out, his side of the story.] Not really my business to know.

But I really would like to know how someone sent an anonymous PM, though. Is there a drink for that? Where's that bartender when you need one?

P.S.- I think everyone understands that Rian was talking about her own stuff, her own frustration, etc. I imagine she'd take affront to anyone who took it as being about him, so much.

As it turned up the person that PM me got in contact with me. For some reason the PM never showed up in eplaya mail box. But the notification of thread entries did. This has happened to me in the pass. Notifications do not show up unless I get on for some reason. I logged in and the person was trying to forewarn me that Rian was Venting on here. Thank you for the forewarning. I understand where it was coming from.
No worries on anyone part. Can we all just let it go and have a drink instead. For some reason I could use a shot of Cabo Wabo.

dammit you motherfuckers... get back in here and drink with me, dammit!

So... tonight the happy news is that we are SOLD OUT, every freakin show, for this week and the nesxt. RIGHT ON! We had a waiting list of 28 people! We turned away 20 somethihng people on a thursday fucking night! (this is a very very big deal for this little theater.)

The sad news is... all you lovlies that already came and saw the show? Yer it. You are the only people in my life that freakin **bothered** to come see me on stage in one of the best shows I've ever been in. This includes my *parents* dammit, not to mention all the boys I've been fucking **dating** (only one of which has never said "oh, hey... I'd love to see you in that... " fucking liars! The one who never fucking lied about his intentions to see the show gets bonus points...)

Sensei, darlin... I fucking love you. That's fucking frienship, man. You have no idea how much it meant to see you out there, twice. The rest of y'all who saw it once? I fucking love you too. It means a fucking LOT that I had a night where I could look out and see some friendly faces.

So, we were all talking (god bless the theater bar) over drinks tonight and it's possible... just fucking possible we'll add a show or two. It depends on schedules of course. But if we do I'm gonna be twisting some fuck9ing dicks to come see it...

My oh my, maybe I should have stopped drinking a teensy bit earlier...

Nah.
It's all about the squirrels.

Like I'm going to miss the chance to SEE MISS LYDIA LOVE SING AND DANCE, LIVE ON STAGE!

I KNEW IT! CoWorkerLurker brought up the question of tickets and I posted the link to the ticket site and there was no mention of the show... I thought it strange, until I realized what had happened. THE WORD GOT OUT on your production! Anyone who missed it is... well, fucked. I wish there was another way to put it.

Congratulations again on the success of the show MISS Love! Don't forget the little people... And I get first goddamned dibs on any available tickets. I'm holding you to this.

I'll have a scotch. And I hate scotch.

fucked
Sensei, darlin, you speak the truth. Except in that a small number of people may just find they no longer actually have that opportunity. By me that is. I absolutely *hate* it when people say they are coming to a show and don't make it.

Damn, I'm in a surly drunken fucking mood...

Remember now, that this baby SOLD OUT. Sales could have gone on for another nine (9) days. Technically, I think some of the so-called 'fucked' were only being procrastinators. But now, they are procrastinating fucks.

Dammit! I was gonna go on Sunday! (Toyed with the idea of going last night.) If there's another show, MISS Love, you tell us pronto! (No twisting will be necessary.)
