I'm a BM virgin. Gong to Burning Man is one of my 2017 BOLD GOALS! I'm a Realtor and I live in the Tampa, FL area. My brother, sister and I planned to come together. Sister bailed last month. Brother is doing his own thing. Radical self-reliance is already putting me to the test. Now what? I got my ticket and a bike lined up. My goal is to find a camp in the 6:00 - 8:00 area. I love to cook, paint, fix things, dance & sing! My vision is to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. I'm 49 and I have learned I have a choice: Fear or Faith. I choose Faith, cuz Fear sucks! So, I have Faith the universe will help me find a place on the playa to call home.
BM Virgin from Florida. I'm VERY excited to go this year, Finally!

Hi there!
I'm a BM virgin. Gong to Burning Man is one of my 2017 BOLD GOALS! I'm a Realtor and I live in the Tampa, FL area. My brother, sister and I planned to come together. Sister bailed last month. Even if you don't find a camp, come anyway! If you can put up a tent and stake down some shade with rebar, you'll probably be fine . . . and surrounded by others, most of whom are bringing their best selves. (Speaking of which: have you read the survival guide?)
Even without a camp, you'll have neighbors. You can visit theme camps. No one will make judgments because you're solo; lots of people are solo/couples/small groups and not even formally placed.
Welcome!

We're not exactly in the 6:00 - 8:00 area, but you're welcome to join us if you're still looking for a place to camp! A few friends and I started coming back in 2010 - showed up with the bare necessities, found a little spot of sand to call our own, and the rest is history. We've returned every year since as Street Life (Sesame Street meets hip hop, because why not?). Our camp has plenty of room this time around and as a rule we happily make space for orphans every year (that’s how we’ve met some of our favorite fellow burners). This year we'll be at 9:30 & Eulogy.
We're an easygoing, fun camp without a lot of rules, on the smaller side (about 15 people). We'll be throwing afternoon happy hours on Mon, Wed, Fri and otherwise when we're around we just hang, play music, and share drinks and snacks. There are usually a few RVs and some people camping in tents, along with a communal outdoor shower, a shipping container kitchen, and a big shade structure that serves as a living room / chill space. You can reach us at [email protected] if you're interested. Hope to see you out there!
