Bright Headlights on Bikes? Possible Fixes?

Hello!

I bought a standard front light and tail light attachment for my bike. I just hooked it up and turned it on. It is very bright!

I even turned it facing down and it is still annoyingly bright. Is this a common and acceptable thing at BM?

Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations on how I can make the light less bright?

It only has two modes,
1) Constant Bright Light
2) Flashing Bright Light

I had that issue with a nightlight. I toyed with some nail polishes until I found one that wasn't opaque. I put on a layer and tested it. Another layer etc until I got the perfect amount of light.

It would be very easy to wrap it in fabric and tie a ribbon around it.

It's fine. There will be bright lights, loud noises, hell maybe even swarms of killer bees. This doesn't sound like a huge issue.

If it turns out that the light is super annoying, I like Ratty's fabric idea because you can remove it at times, such as if you decide to venture out into deep playa at night, where it is nice to have as much light as possible out in front of you so you can effectively dodge the softer dune areas as you travel.

Wrap a piece of colored cellophane from a gift bag over it.

When you're pedaling relatively fast you'll want to be able to see far ahead of you especially when some idiots abandon their bikes in the middle of the playa, or lay down without lights, or other stupidity. You can just aim it downwards if you need to.

I wish mine was brighter and aimable.

Bright lights is good.

Darkwad or Darktard is bad.

Take your bright ass lights and own them out there like a boss.

I have a VERY-VERY bright light on my trike.

When I am in the city and in congested traffic, I reach up on my handle bar and rotate the light down a bit.

When I am out on the open playa where the night is blacker than anthracite and I need every single lumin that I can get my hands on, I rotate the light up.
