Re: The person below me
For the first time in my life I'm gonna be trying sushee this weekend while in Bakersfield. As long as I can overload it with catsup and/or tobassco sauce, I might be able to stomach it, but since I don't like fish as it is, I'm not holding my breath that I'll much care for it.
I'll make a tuna sandwich once in a while,
I'll fry some catfish once in a while as long as I have plenty of hushpuppies, dry coleslaw and a coke or Dr Pepper to wash it down.
TPBM isn't much of a fan of white cars/vehicles

Re: The person below me
SO TRUE. White vehicles, like white clothes, are a spill/mess/disaster waiting to happen. I drink a lot of coffee, I'm an absentminded person with bad reflexes, ergo I own no white clothing. Also: ask me about the incident that one time when I was on a jobsite, involving a walkie-talkie, a (white) company truck, and a large bottle of V-8...

Re: The person below me
Inadvertently. My black sport shoes lost the webbing between the elastic parts and this exposes the tops of my toes and the sides of my ankles. I think playa dust had some effect in all this. If I wear black socks it looks like I have black sport shoes on. If I don't wear socks the shoes look like sandals with a toe guard and heel guard. Striped socks don't work. White socks look kinda dorky.
TPBM is thinking of that thought that goes through your head after you have driven a long way, maybe camped out along the way, to find yourself in a massive traffic snarl that moves slowly and gets dustier as you go along, and after pitching camp you figure you have been awake far too long and pass out - that thought when you first wake up on the playa, that first quiet morning and go "Oh Shit! I did it again! I'm in Black Rock City."

The next morning you will wake up pretty much your old self except that a very unusual 16 hours will have been added to your store of life experience.

Re: The person below me
Yeah! The thought of going to TTITD always goes through my mind. Especially since I live just a spit away from US 395 in Carson City and the new freeway is visible from my front yard (although it is not officially opened yet. I'll make a post if it opens before the rush) and I visualize seeing BM attendees using this highway making the pilgrimage north to the playa. This year I'm hoping to be at the junction of 395 and 50 from lake tahoe waving at the attendees driving by, at least for a few minutes each day during the event. Plus I work on I 580 in Reno and get to see many heading there.

No gin for me thank you. It gives me the eee-bee-gee-bees. Pickled vegies are always welcome though.
TPBM wishes the Mods could drag-and-drop the tickets wanted threads on to the tickets offered threads & make everyone happy.

nope. I'm fully aware there is no way to make "everyone happy" - and we already get enough PMs from people who think we have some magic inside track to secret tickets. Don't need to encourage that foolishness any.

Dude, no one takes the Playa subway anymore. The Fernley Walmart Hyperloop is the way to go. 20 seconds to the Playa & you go straight to greeters & bypass Gate.
The person below me just had an epiphany and realized that they already have everything they need to Burn & no longer needs to stress out about it.

Re: The person below me
Well that’s not far off the mark. I was just going through old weapons trying to assess whether to sell or keep. One is a 1910-ish Colt Frontier revolver with papers reporting it was once owned by Pancho Villa. Not his personal weapon but one he gave a woman as a gift.
Also some 1800s rifles with no paper trail, and a ‘67 Llama .22 semi auto in the original box with the manual and registration card and all, pretty much like new.
I gotta find the right person who’s into this stuff because I’m more interested in old cars.
TPBM is figuring out how many other cool things they could do with the time & money BM takes!
