Vacuum sealer?

Post by Leahpatra » Wed Aug 16, 2017 10:34 am

Does anyone in the Bay Area have a vacuum sealer a sister could use? Happy to buy a roll of bags etc for you to use in return!

Big hugs!

A back-up suggestion for ya: ask around and see if any of your friends (or friends of friends) are Latter Day Saints. The local groups often have access to canning and vacuum sealing equipment, and a well-placed inquiry may get you squatters rights. They also have the experience to make this equipment really work, which is important from a food safety standpoint.

Every city is different, and every group has a different policy on public use, but on the two occasions I needed canning equipment, they were happy to help and the experience was enjoyable for everyone. (And when my canning idea utterly flopped, they were happy to have my 3 boxes of unused cans gifted, so it was truely a win-win with an invite to return if I ever wanted to try again).

Good folks. Food for thought. :)
