It doesnt work that way. You cant get out and switch cars. Will call is right there at gate. They can wait for you

People say picking up at will call takes extra hours?
Do you have experience with it?

Sylvia, Whether it takes 10 minutes or 10 hours you are still not allowed to be left at will call. The entire RV will pull into the will call lot, park and you will wait in line to get your ticket. Then the entire group can be directed back to the gate. You can't get out and walk to will call. (It's right there next to gate.) You won't be allowed. The place is crawling with GATE people. This is explained over and over in various instructions. You may get the entire group shuffled off to D Lot. Do some research. Ask on other boards that aren't directly connected with the organization. Maybe they have tricky solutions. You won't hear about any of that here. Good luck.

OR,

The RV drops you in Reno at a rideshare location and you get a rideshare to BRC.
I haven't looked to see where they are this year, but typically the Reno Airport has a booth (Air Playa Info) with rideshare advice/co-ordination there, and Burners also know to look for those needing a rideshare at Keystone Savemart.
As you don't need to pickup anything, I'd recommend Air Playa Info at the airport if they're operating this year.

Backup: have a cardboard sign saying
Going Home
(willcall)
Burners (and pretty much everyone in Reno) know where you're going.

See this post from last year. On everyone having tickets, etc.!!!
MAKE SURE THEY KNOW YOU NEED TO STOP AT WILLCALL!!!
viewtopic.php?f=286&t=65669#p1123410

In addition to everything needed for Willcall, have some water, your id and meds with you, just in case you don't make it to BRC (entry closure) or the RV doesn't make it there.

Some rides swing by the rideshare before they pickup all their supplies as some seeking rides also need to stop for supplies. Others stop by after they've got everything, looking for those that already got their supplies.
You're golden, as you don't need to stop for anything and you don't have the bulk of supplies to fit in the vehicle. EXCEPT, you need to have the whole car stop at Willcall. Make sure they know else they'll be very very unhappy at Willcall if they don't need to stop at Willcall.

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE THE RV WILL BE PARKING!!!
Have an alternate.
If they can't park at either location, make sure those in the RV know to go and post at the Centre Camp bulletin board if they have to park elsewhere, so you can go there to find their post to know where they went to. Hopefully they won't think it's funny to play "Hide the RV", which has been done... with or without leaving clues and making it a treasure hunt. Your results may vary...
IF that happens, do check behind you as you walk around; someone may be following with a video camera, or not.

Also, if the RV and you have walkie-talkies, you can sing out when you get there. (You may hear: you're getting warm! You're getting cold!)

Hopefully they won't read this post and get ideas.

Google eplaya on getting a safe ride. Usual Rules Apply!!!

Is this your "ladies" making an issue or is this you feeling some kind of guilt?

All of you are in an RV.

Have a designated driver for gate, someone who will not drink and drive the RV to the campsite.

The rest of you -

Pull into the Will-call lot, set up a small folding table, get the blender going and make Margaritas.

You, have your cocktail, go into the will call line and get your ticket.

The fucking party starts right then and there and will be as fun as you all make it.

Regardless of the reasons for this weird will-call ride request, bring a tent or few just in case, for some privacy and also for the inevitable -
the "ladies" blow up in some crazy drama. Seems you and the crew already have a head-start on this story-line.

Sorry, i'm sounding like a jerk right now, but this is advice from many years of friends becoming not friends when sharing an RV for a week.

Good luck.

OOPS!

What if you end up in BRC and they aren't. Perhaps for your rideshare you should include a sleeping bag, (raincoat?), a few bottles of water and a few energy bars, and any essentials.

I hope you have cellphones so they can let you know if they break down and aren't in BRC yet...
You can also let them know when you get a rideshare, so they can estimate how far behind them you are. I'd say let them know if you pass them, but you'd better not be in a car that is passing once you head North towards Gerlach.
"In Gerlach" is a good call/text for both to make too. They/you may or may not get a signal after that.

p.s.
Very considerate of you to not tie them up at Willcall.
And they setup camp.
I think you should expect to do a few extra somethings (dinner? Ice runs? MOOPing?) for skipping setup... :D

There was one year that one person in our RV had to get their ticket at will call - and it was the year with the Line of Death. It took us 8 hours to get through - the longest wait ever. Guess what - we all waited, because we would have been jerks to abandon one of our people just because they had to get their ticket there. The good news - Will Call has become much better, and last year the longest wait was around 30 minutes.

No worries! We are all stay at a bigger camp and they were just kind to offer me a lift.
I have a tent and camp is mostly already set up.
Things will work out, they always do :-)
