Today was crazy...
Left at 1am last night to go eclipse viewing. Slept very little on the road. Ended up taking 3 hours to get to our desired location, and 7 hours to get back home. Traffic on I-25 was brutal. But the total eclipse was incredible.
I leave for BMan tomorrow morning, so this weekend was pack everything weekend. I have 3 tiny bags left to squeeze into my car somehow in the morning, and then I am off for a second long-ass day of driving. Almost forgot my hat! How ridiculous is that? Looking forward to many hours of solo driving and getting completely immersed in an audiobook.
Now just to stop remembering all the little things.

Charging up the Baofeng handheld radio, which I have programmed with (among other things) MURS frequencies, so that in theory if anything truly bad happens I can yelp for help on the MURS 911 channel, which ESD Comms monitors.

Final loading is in progress for early morning departure on Friday. Freezer is on and freezing bottles of water. Trailer gets loaded tomorrow. Truck is pretty much loaded.

Folded the shelter and stakes into one bag ... Bed, mattress, sleeping bag, and over tent in another bag .. Instead of crates, Using double brown paper bag for each small project .. Then put the bags into a plastic store bag.. Sleep now..

Finally packed. If I don't have it I don't need it. I hit the road in 6 hours. I cannot believe how much I managed to get in to my suburban but its full. Beer hauler is kind of Janky but it will get the job done.

Already started getting items I'll need for 2018. Stopped by my local Big 5 and bought a camping stove for 50 bucks that's super legit. Plus an additional 10 percent off with a coupon I found on Google. Also, stopped at Goodwill and dropped another 50 and was able to get all my costume gear and 3 pairs of brand new sunglasses.
Next year I'm definitely going the hexayurt route so that will probably be my next big expense.
