Hi all.
I am having a very difficult time deciding whether or not to go to Burning Man. I have a ticket and am pretty much packed. Trouble is that I've been going through a lot lately and I'm very depressed and stressed out, and I'm worried that I'll get out on the Playa and crash even harder. I know from experience that Burning Man can evoke powerful emotional experiences, both good and bad. Perhaps I'll get more depressed there, or have an epiphany and new perspective.
This year I quit my job and moved to So Cal. My job here did not work out and now I'm unemployed and stressed.
Can I please get some opinions here, because I'm oscillating and can't make a decision with only my perspective and I'm running out of time.
Thanks Friends.
Patrick

I get depressed but never hit that awful bottom. For me the answer would be go.
For you... If you have people there you love it could be fine.
If you'll stay isolated there - probably better not to go.

Go, and try to leave that stuff behind.
It will be there when you get back and it WILL look different.
Let the playa take you where ever you need to go.

Go. Know that you can always leave early if you feel the need.
If you don't go, you will spend time wondering if you should have. And you won't be able to resolve those wonderings.

Sweet mother of Dog, these are questions best discussed with a medical professional that is trained in dealing with depression.
If you have a camp of people on the Playa that can support you if needed, and at moments notice drop everything and get you back home, sure, go. Purchase the insurance for the air and road ambulance just in case.
If not, sell the ticket, find a mental health provider that can take you in on a sliding scale on account of unemployment, and get to addressing your crisis.
