First time burner from France - Photographer if that can help

Hello all,

I'm Marc, from France (Leaving in Paris) and this is my first time BM after years of not having the time to make it; Neither too late;

I will be alone on my own but I'm sure I won't be alone in the BM;

If that is interesting for some to keep memory of their art, I'm a Photographer in between other activities and with the proper tools to make things cool here, I just made 2 months road trip in the West of the USA with my trailer;

I will have one question, about the "Playa name" we are given or we take; We define it ourself I presume ? One of the guy working on BM preparation gave me one that is ok (and usual) so I do presume if we select it ourself my Playa name will be "What Else.."

Few hours before meeting some of you;

No, please don't do that. There is no promoting anything on playa. People have been tossed from the event for even casual promotion. Verboten.

A playa name happens. You don't get to choose. What fun would it be if you choose your own?

My name, Token - was given as I was the "token" straight guy in an all gay camp one year, long ago.

The playa name will tell a story, that why it is fun.

You'll receive one when or if it is appropriate because of some situation you're involved in, some quirk people notice about you, or for random reasons.

It may never happen too.

Most of the people I know, including myself, don't have a playa name. My ePlaya name gets used at the M&G because it's the only name associated with me via this board.

Playa names happen when they happen. Mine didn't happen for years, until my nephew left me a note with Aunty Em spelled as Anti M, and my friends picked it up too. My husband still goes by his name, although sometimes he's called MyLarry to differentiate him from several other Larrys.

Do not give yourself a playa name. A forced playa name without a story can sound pretentious or off. Just go with the flow and either you get one or you do not. The exception is those volunteer jobs when you need a handle, and even those have guidelines.
