Re: my mind begins to hum...
“I think he’s just jealous because he’s not involved in the Derp House revolution,” continued Hilton, whose DJ mixes have been critically acclaimed by people she pays to respond positively to everything she asks them. “If he wants to get left behind and look like he doesn’t pay somebody 80k a year to tell him what to wear then that’s his problem but he doesn’t have to bring the rest of us down with him.”
“Hasn’t he ever heard of PLUR?” enquired Hilton. “That, along with money, are the two most important things in the music industry. Who cares what type of music you play as long as everyone in the crowd has some molly and you get paid lots of money. Are we not all after the same thing here?”
“You can play house, tech house, electro house or derp house,” continued Paris. “It doesn’t matter to me at all because I live in a mansion, and I think I’m speaking for most of the other important people in the industry when I say that.”
Carter has yet to respond to Hilton’s comments although it is believed he’s sitting happily content in his Chicago house after having his rant vindicated by the self involved ramblings of one of Derp House’s leading lights.

It’s possible that this bizarre landscape could harbor life, astrobiologists say. And Cassini’s work suggests that the big moon may have another potentially habitable environment as well: a salty ocean of liquid water buried beneath the crust. (Indeed, Cassini was directed to its doom primarily to ensure that it would never contaminate Titan or Enceladus with microbes from Earth.)

The craft was constructed in cleanroom conditions.
Radiation levels inside Titan orbit are too high for any life to survive.
Crash landing or burning in atmosphere are both rather aggressive to life forms.
Must have been the Plutonium of the (thermo>>electric) engine they did not want to decorate Enceladus with.
Evaporating between the high clouds is less pollutive ?

I'm familiar with the clean rooms in which satellites are built; logged plenty of hours in a bunny suit.
These are indeed high levels of cleanliness, although that applies to particles and grease, rather than biological contamination.
So there are different kinds of clean rooms. In one you build lasers, the other one you build DNA.

For all we know, Huygens may have already infected Titan.
The bottom line being, if we do find bacteria on Titan or some other world, we need procedural guarantees that these are NOT of Earth origin. Expect it to be hotly debated, however, no matter what we do.
(Okay, back to the surreal, stream-of-consciousness that we've all grown to expect...)

Re: my mind begins to hum...
From a young age, human children learn that a rattle won’t make a noise until it’s shaken, and that placing fingers on a hot stove is a terrible idea. New research suggests that wolves, like humans, have a knack for identifying these kinds of cause-and-effect relationships, but that domesticated dogs do not. This finding suggests that domestication may have debilitated doggie brains, but there are other possible factors to consider as well.

Enceladus has some sort of cell-like bodies that don't seem to be undergoing metabolism. However, there is some process, chemical or other, that is acting on these cell-bodies in a way that suggests some sort of life.

Re: my mind begins to hum...
If you had big plans this weekend, David Meade regrets to inform you that the world will be ending Saturday.
Meade, a Christian numerologist and self-described “researcher,” says Sept. 23 is foretold in the Bible’s Book of Revelation as the day a series of catastrophic events will begin, and as a result, “a major part of the world will not be the same,” the Washington Post reports.
The Bible prophecies a woman “clothed with the sun” and a “crown of 12 stars” giving birth to a boy who will “rule all the nations” while she fights off a seven-headed dragon. The woman, Meade says, is the constellation Virgo, which on Saturday will be positioned under nine stars and three planets, per Popular Mechanics.
The baby boy will be the planet Jupiter, which will be moving out of Virgo on that night.
According to Meade, who says he studied astronomy at an unspecified university in Kentucky, the great change in our world will be the result of the arrival of Nibiru, a planet famous in conspiracy circles but which astronomers say doesn’t exist.

Re: my mind begins to hum...
In Aztec mythology, Mictēcacihuātl, literally "Lady of the Dead", is Queen of Mictlan, the underworld, ruling over the afterlife with Mictlantecuhtli, another deity who is her husband.
Her role is to watch over the bones of the dead and preside over the ancient festivals of the dead. These festivals evolved from Aztec traditions into the modern Day of the Dead after synthesis with Spanish traditions. She now presides over the contemporary festival as well. She is known as the "Lady of the Dead", since it is believed that she was born, then sacrificed as an infant. Mictecacihuatl was represented with a defleshed body and with jaw agape to swallow the stars during the day.

Re: my mind begins to hum...
Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte (Spanish for Our Lady of the Holy Death) or, colloquially, Santa Muerte (Holy Death), is a female deity (or folk saint depending on school of thought) in Mexican folk religion, particularly Folk Catholicism, venerated primarily in Mexico and the Southwestern United States. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees. Despite condemnation by the Catholic Church, her cult has become prominent in the 2000s and 2010s, as a continuation of the Aztec goddess of death Mictecacihuatl or Mictlancihuatl (Nahuatl for "Lady of the Dead") clad according to Spanish iconography.

The lizards range in size from less than 0.01 ounces (2 grams) upon hatching to more than 7 ounces (200 grams) as adults. Throughout their size range, they can run across water on their hind limbs at about 5 feet (1.5 meters) a second for a distance of approximately 15 feet (4.5 meters) before they sink to all fours and swim. The lizard is often called the Jesus Christ lizard in Central America because of its seeming ability to walk on water.
