Oh, and tonite is the peak of the Geminiids meteor shower so if it is halfway dark where you are and it isn't too cloudy, if you go outside about now, you should be able to see one within a rather short period of time.

Thanks for the meteor tip Geekster. I'm headin' out in a minute to check 'em out...

We're all still recovering from Seattle SantaCon so it was an early night for ALL of us. Which reminds me of a funny story... If NOTTHAT1 comes in the bar and lights up a non-tobacco substance, tell him HE'S REALLY NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT IN BARS. ESPECIALLY NOT REAL ONES. Jeez, some people... And he's such a shy, quiet guy most (but not quite all) of the time. I was shocked! Shocked, I say!

It's weird. Little images on SantaCon are slowly coming back to me. Yeah, I handed Notthat1 my lighter and then...

Was that when you licked your own eyebrows?

Oh shoot, I wasn't supposed to mention those OTHER talents. Never mind that last bit. Sorry Sensei.

No, that was not when I "licked (my) own eyebrows." That was when I used my tongue to part my hair like Bob's Big Boy, including the curly-Q-whip-de-doo thingy on my forehead.

Well, I see I missed some fun at the LL. I too, need to get to Seattle and be sure I'm there on a Monday. Just gotta find the right conference to send me there.

I'm setting up the coffee, and then I'm out for a while.
It's going to be alright.

Hmmm!

The place is clean as a whistle! The place looks marvelous, tisha.

I'll just get a cuppa that joe, thanks sputnik..... and start the fire then it's off to work, slinging cob in the trenches.
I LOVE my job!
Almost as much as I love the Borden cow that is on a can of egg-nog.... made my first ever hot-drink last night... (i have a cold)... egg nog, Yukon Jack cinnamon & nutmeg. I'm going to bring the nog-can to work & use the tin-snips to free "Elsie" from the can. She is quite the charmer!

[creaky old woman voice] when I was young [/creaky old woman voice], I used to religiously visit reggae night sundays at this redneck bar in LR. They had a giant indoor sand volleyball pit, and it kept me out of depression for a whole year going there and stickin my toes in hte sand.

I think a margharita this fine Tuesday morning, thanks!

Sigh. I know. One of these days I might have to admit that i probably have it too. I started looking back at the last 5 years or so and when the down points have been... but through all of the drama and whatnot, I can't tell if its seasonal or not.

What else can we do for you?

How about a slip n' slide? Non-playafied, of course.

THis is the first year I've come out and admitted the seasonal component. My life had been drastically unstable for hte past decade (!). I'm finally in a good position for myself and the girls, but here it is still......I believe I crave it, like instability. Oh, drama and excitement! Eplaya, take me away from my boring life! Yes, a slip n slide, wo a doubt! THat's what you can do for me.

One slip-n-slide, at your disposal, darlin.
Watch the vat of whipped cream at the other side.

Yeah, it's one of those things - depression and bipolar and whatnot really do run in my family. Pretty much all of us are on drugs/were on drugs/ should be on drugs. My dad uses the sunlamp method; it's gotten things under control for him.

But then, i'm such a stickler for just 'dealing' rather than actually resorting to medically tested tactics. I find i get better at it every year...

....same here. It's evening out for me too. I'm exploring the gifts the change in perspective offers, and I find that fascinating, rather than just writing it all off as a problem. Persephone sisters.

I very much agree. Not to say it isn't difficult.

I have some friends who need their drugs to function, and I fully support their use of them. I can't do it for myself. Even before any supposed 'imbalance' cropped up, I was always a kid with extremes of emotions... granted, it got more intense, but the pharmaceuticals they dole out take away my personality. I see no point in living as someone else.

I chalk it up to 'artistic temperament,' and am learning not to inflict shit on others or myself.

When are the shrinks going to realise that human beings do have a range of emotions and aren't meant to be automatons?

Well, I have my own internal sense of what I can live w and what I can't, as far as medicine goes. I do not and will not take prescribed mental medication. I do self medicate with herbs and holistic-type medicine.

And beer. And margaritas on occasion. May I have another? (I put the nontobacco in the herbs category).

i recently went to my physician who had prescribed a prescription cholestral lowering medicine with some side-effects... i pretty much informed i did not take prescription drugs... at which he wrote out a 'script for Omega 3 supplements and Niacin.

i wake and bake so i can stand myself... and i like beer all too much.

the other intoxicants out there... i can take or leave.. but if you decide to leave yours, i will watch over them for you or until the voices suggest i consume them (intoxicants)

I was referring specifically to prescribed 'anti-depressants'.

'Course, in recent years I've found that I don't medicate with much of anything. Even before the non-tobacco turned into an evil experience, i wasn't sharp enough the next day on it. Not for playing in symphonies and shit, where being 'on time' is actually quite late. I booze here and there, but really very little in the past year. I'm too used to needing to be ready to jump up and respond to whatever at any moment.

Omega 3 and Niacin...hmmm...I pretty much ignored the prescription too since I have absolutely no intention of not drinking (which I would have had to have done). So I changed my diet, watched my portions and exercise more.

It's after lunch, so time for a beer.
It's going to be alright.
