When do PreSale $990 tickets sell out - 2018

It is now Wednesday, day of sale, at around 4:30 PST. The PreSale started at noon. Does anyone know if the $990 PreSale tickets have sold out yet? How about the VP's, which I believe sometimes run out first. I'm thinking this might be a useful bit of information to be aware of going forward for those who might be considering a ticket purchase either this year or in the future.

In 2016, presale tix were available at least a month after the sale opened i.e., they were still available on the same day as the main sale:

As far as I can tell, they never seem to sell out. I've checked availability of pre-sale tickets as near as 1 month before gate opened and they were available to me still; vehicle passes eventually were not. Take that as you may.

I did a little more reading here and on another site, and it appears to me that they may have sold out in a matter of hours in 2015, but they cost $800 that year, if I have that right. In 2016, at $990, they remained on sale much longer it seems. Haven't found anything regarding 2017 yet. I was under the impression that the $990's do sell out, while the $1200's are what remain available perhaps all the way up to the burn itself. All of this is a bit fuzzy though.

There is still a registration required for pre-sale tickets. If one did not register, no pre-sale ticket.
The $990 are only available in the pre-sale. Also $1200 tickets are available in the pre-sale.

Additional $1200 tickets, these will become available as from April 4 and a registration in order to purchase is not required. I believe these tickets will be available until just before the event. But these are not pre-sale tickets.

I can confirm that the $990 tickets sold out within a few hours of going on sale at noon PST. There was a period where there were gone but popped back up as available as orders got kicked out of the system, but by that evening, they were definitely gone. The $1200 tickets are still available as of Friday afternoon.

Thanks for the firsthand info lagniappeDC. I have had the impression that the $990's no longer lasted very long, and was curious see any trends in that regard. Also appreciate engineer2012 drawing the distinction between PreSale $1200's and the second, non-registration batch which apparently last throughout the summer, perhaps in almost endless supply. It is interesting to see the price points at which demand actually begins to decline.

During the past few years I had no luck of getting tickets & vehicle pass in the main sale, in spite of being in the queue promptly at high noon. For 2018 figured I would pay the extra $$$ for a $990.00 pre-sale ticket & vehicle pass. For this pre-sale, logged in promptly and had the purchase completed in less than 15 minutes. For my time anticipated time on the playa this year, I figure this works out to $5.75/hour, which is a a great value in my opinion. Will see y'all on the playa!

Looks like it’s going to be very dusty this year because there hasn’t been much snow, last year I thought the rain, lake was going to make it good but locals told me it’s the snowpack.

Good because there was no wind? It didn’t look too good to me but I left 12-hours after arriving because it was too hot.

Also, on the way in/out the dust was really thick in spots.
