I bought my own food saver! it was on sale on best buy and I just couldn't pass it up. I've been borrowing one twice a year, now I will have my own and I am super stoked!

danibel, that's fabulous-- makes camp meals SO MUCH EASIER. I like to seal and freeze individual servings so folks can rummage in the freezer and grab something whenever. If I get time-crunched before the burn, I get chinese or indian takeout and seal-n-freeze that. Garlic eggplant, kungpao chicken, veggie korma, butter chicken, saag paneer-- all with rice included so it's boil and go.

Baked potatoes! Can be topped with anything out of the cooler! Polenta with tomato sauce. I also buy take out and seal a big meal into two servings. I did learn - never seal grapes. They get squished and flat. No good.

Found several photo albums at the thrift shop, the kind I use for the HFWA adoption cards. The inserts are stupid expensive, so even those are great. Found a few cute and interesting framed pieces. The days of finding anything I can use as art under a dollar are long gone.

We're beginning to sort the empty bins so I can begin getting art into them.

Hotel rooms booked for ingress and egress. Was looking at cheap hotels in Fernley but the cheapest one was twice as much as Circus Circus in Reno. I used to drive straight home after the burn but last year, I got a room in Reno and it was awesome being able to have a short drive to Reno and a LONG HOT shower right after the event. Wake up the next morning refreshed and ready for the long drive home.

Also made a lot of progress with my gifts last weekend.

Other than rebuilding my FIGJAM to the exact spec, I really don't have many camp-related things or upgrades I need for BRC this year. I have a playatech project I'm working on for local burns, but that will only take a few weekends. I'm going to have to find something else to do this spring and summer.

Next steps - finding a storage place near reno/fernley that will store our crap till next year, and organising pre-order parts and a flat space we can use to build hexayurts between SF and Reno!

Started my "holy crap I'm runnning out of time" panic.

Bought canvas flooring, foam padding, and a couple of other randoms.

Marked my calendar. STEP closes July 20. OMG register July 25, ends July 27. Actual OMG sales begin 1 Aug.. Burningman gates open 26 Aug.

I did not get a low income ticket this year, I haven't got a STEP buy notice yet. Will try OMG the end of July. Fingers crossed, spitting downwind.
