Marc, Welcome to eplaya. burning Man requires a whole lot of research. You can easily find all of this info online. Start reading NOW. Search eplaya using google search. (Not the search feature found here.) go to the BM site and read all of the supplied lists and handbooks. That will get you in the mood for your preparations. We will be happy to fill in the blanks. See you in the dust soon.

The first thing to do is read the survival guide. It has most everything you need to know in it.

Much of the information can be found in the links in my signature below.
Yes, it's quite a bit of preparation, but well worth the effort.

Welcome Aboard.
Yep, there's reading to do for homework. Please ask if anything isn't clear. And yes, the dust gets into everything, it is somewhere between dirty flour and talcum powder.

Re: a little help
well yes, someone could. But shouldn't, really, in the big picture.marcsambolin wrote:Hello everyone, I will be attending burning man this year for the first time. Part of the idea of this event is "radical self reliance", and as such, people do their own research, get ideas, and learn. There is more info, just here on eplaya in the different threads, than you can probably use. Let alone other spots on the net like the main site and even printed material.
Once you get the basics and get your stuff figured out, folks are happy to share "hacks" and such.
Good luck and welcome.
