The Org has a new Afterburn format. Many of us like the detailed pre-2014 format and this is going back in that direction. https://journal.burningman.org/2017afterburn/
In 2016 the borg reported BxA at about 2400. They now sum in and out to 5800 in 2017, or about 2800 net round trips. BxB in 2017 is reported at 12000+ or about 6000 round trips. I thought the number would be larger. That's still 3000-4500 vehicle passes less congestion on the roads and will no doubt give us a new magic number for future population caps.

Another factoid, from the Draft EIS hearings:
“Every year, 20,000 Burners coming from 34 countries during the week, bringing in $11 million revenue just to the airport,” Brian Kulpin, head of marketing and public affairs for the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said at an April 8 meeting. “We appreciate even the playa dust they bring in.”
That would imply that now 1/4 of burners fly into Reno, with additional flying into SF, Oakland, Las Vegas and others.

20K passengers, $11M ... that’s $550 per person, on average ...
Wonder how that math happened and what it is actually counting in that revenue.

Someone should research this in detail. Where is the in-out ultimate destination of BxB and BxA? To the rest, I'm a climate radical-moderate. Burners either have wealth in currency or wealth in time. If you are traveling across oceans, use freighters, they are carbon-efficient! At a minimum pay reparations in carbon offsets.
