Little baby virgin from Chicago. Found a ticket, and now I need help figuring out the rest! Any and all advice welcome. I would love to join your camp!
29yo female. I love the strange and unconventional and I can't wait to see what burning man is all about. Educated in art, but working in science. Love bringing the two together.
I'm very crafty and resourceful. You won't regret teaming up with me!

Re: Chicago virgin
Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!
Elderberry
When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi, Little Chicago Burgin!
Welcome to ePLaya.
On this forum, we like to see more information in an introduction, such as more about what art and/or science and/or craftiness and resourcefulness you plan to contribute to the BRC community.
But since you asked for "help figuring out the rest", I will gladly respond to a cry for help.
You should begin by educating yourself about the Event.
The website has TONS of information. Start with the Survival Guide and the rest of the First-Timer information. Read it again until you UNDERSTAND it.
You will soon learn that self-reliance is a valued concept in BRC.
That's why you should not expect any of us to tell you all "the rest".
If Burning Man is for you, then you will soon embrace that concept kind'a naturally and instinctively.
And you do not want to join just any camp -- which you seem to say.
You probably have no idea of the variety of people and camps, I dare guess. You might not be happy in a camp that specializes in... well... pick something that seems disgusting to you. Anything. BRC has it.
Subscribe to Jack Rabbit Speaks. That's on the website too.
We appreciate people who do their research before asking questions here on ePlaya -- because... that question has probably been answered 1,000 times before.
Google the key words of your question and "ePlaya". (This works better than the search function here on ePlaya itself.)
And read.
If you still cannot find what you need... then you ask us, and tell us what you have learned so far, and we will rally to your aid.
Radical self-reliance. We call it a Principle.
There are nine more.
Read. Think. Read.
Oh... can you repair bicycles? Or give massage? Or paint people? Or....
