I lost my photo id and wont have a replacement in time for BM, do I need a photo ID to enter through the burner express if I have a physical ticket (not will call)

Looks like you will need photo ID in order to ride on the Burner Express bus. Best to contact Burner Express Bus directly for confirmation...

If you want to hang out in playa bars, yes.

I'm 55 and I get carded every year.

If you have a physical ticket in hand and arrive in a car (truck, RV, etc) you won't need any ID to enter Black Rock City.

As GW said though, the bars will check your ID before they give you a drink.

If you are 63 and don’t have multiple forms of ID ...

Just get a pouch on a lanyard and hang it from your neck.

Besides, showing a smartphone at a bar could be grounds for refusal of service and expulsion with extreme prejudice.

My understanding is that the law doesn't require photo id to obtain alcohol. It's just that requiring ID is an affirmative defense for the provider should the person obtaining it turn out to be under 21. So it's a bar-by-bar decision, and some are more strict about it that others.

As for me - these days, if I'm being carded (whether on playa or off), I take it as flirting.

I've used printed out copies (front & back, clear packing tape as if it's a single ID) of my license and always was allowed drinks. Others will use clear tape and tape the front to the side of their cup. In my experience, reasonably clear copies of your license will work fine to get served.

I have an old photo Canadian drivers license that I have punched a hole in one corner and attached to a lanyard. Never had anyone refuse to serve me.
