Barbie Death Village Reno Hotel Deal 2018
Welcome home campers! Well, you asked for it and you get it! Your friends and debauched neighbors from Barbie Death Village have once again, as our gift to Black Rock City, offering our Sands Regency Reno Hotel Deal for 2018. This deal is for all burners, not just Barbiebarians coming to or leaving from Burning Man. Here are the details (taxes and resort fees not included; all casinos/resorts in Reno charge them):
Sunday, August 19 - Thursday, August 23: $39
Friday, August 24 - Saturday, August 25: $75
Sunday, August 26 - Thursday, August 30: $39
Friday, August 31 - Sunday, September 2: $99
Monday, September 3 - Thursday, September 6: $39
You must call (866) FUN-STAY [(866) 386-7829] and ask for BARBIE18. (The code should be up and running early next week.) We have taken down several floors of rooms, each room has two queen beds and sleeps 4 (12 if you're sponsoring the orgy). The Sands Regency has a free sauna, large 15-person Jacuzzi and steam bath, with ice machines on every floor, large swimming pool, and ample free parking. There is even covered free parking you can use for the duration of the week if you're carpooling to the playa. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport and the Sands Regency is five blocks from the Amtrak station.
Never let it be said that Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barbie Death Village) doesn't unselfishly give back to the burner community. You, my friends, are indeed welcome. See you at the Meet & Greet.

Re: Barbie Death Village Reno Hotel Deal 2018
Is it correct that there's the weekend $99 fee in addition to your room price (not the resort fee or taxes) for the weekend before the burn?
I just saw on an Aussie Burner page that someone went to book here using the Barbie code and was told that all hotels charge the $99 that weekend

That's the first I've heard of it. If The Sands have a quote, I believe they will stick to it. Seems very unlikely "all hotels" have a singular rate for anything.

This'll be my third year taking advantage of this deal. Thanks again for doing it!

<bumpty bump bump> Just in case some of you newbies to this forum are looking for a fun and inexpensive place to stay in Reno either coming in or leaving the burn.
Re: Barbie Death Village Reno Hotel Deal 2018
A big thank you to Dr Pyro and the rest of the Barbarians for this gift.
For others, you can use their code BARBIE18 on the sands website in addition to booking by phone.
I'll be there for a few nights before heading out to build our camp!
See you in the dust! (and maybe the hotel)
Cheers

Ahhhh, yes, finally get to attend the famous H2O Oasis Party on Monday the 3rd of September at the once glorious now just the Sands Hotel! I've got a room Monday night with two queen beds and I only intend on using one so if you are inclined to take a dip with the rest of us playafied barbiebarians, message me and we can share the room and extremely discounted amount!

Darn it Jewels, I'm not coming till Tuesday. It would have been nice to see you and I could have split that room with you. If you're still there Tuesday AM look for me at the pool. (I'm going to the party regardless.)

Hey fellow Burners!
After having heard about this great after party the past few years, I have finally been able to find the link to attend. Me and my DJ buddy from Germany and two friends have gotten two nights on Tuesday and Wednesday.
What things should we expect for this after party swim and water fest?
Veteran burner here from Distrikt looking forward to meeting you all.
(As an aside, should I bring extra liquor from our bar or drinks or foods to share poolside? Is this possible to do?)
Thanks for any responses!

Thanks for setting this up again Dr. Pyro!
Can anyone chime in on parking here? I will be towing a 26 foot camper and parking can be a challenge. When I look at the satellite view of the area, I see a lot to the south that appears to have trailer and bus parking. Any idea if this is public or private parking? It appears to be in front of laxalt auditorium.
After typing this out, I realized it would be easiest to just call the hotel and ask. Radical self reliance? I'll update with answers in case anyone has the same question in the future.

Re: Barbie Death Village Reno Hotel Deal 2018
They have a large lot to the south of the casino across the street from the hotel that can handle your camper with ease. We have parked our box truck and 31' RV there in the past with no problems at all. They are overly accommodating, which is why we use them.Semicola wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:42 amThanks for setting this up again Dr. Pyro!
